I have an Astron Belt cab with really cool original art, full wrap vinyl over particle board. However it has lost its adhesion and is peeling off from the edges badly. How can I re-adhere it to the particle board?

I thought about holding the loose parts up with one hand, painting contact cement with a brush inside, and when dry using my side art squeegee to push it back down and squeegee towards the edge. I'm just worried the cement will dry with chunks, and I'll see those as bumps through the vinyl.

Is there a spray adhesive that I could spray in between, that will lay flat and not show when I squeegee the art down again?

Thanks!

I do not know if it will work for you but 3m makes a few different versions of a spray adhesive you can find at most hardware stores

This may not be the best way, but it worked for me on a Gravitar cabinet.

I used Titebond wood glue, but Elmers or any wood glue would work same. I would NOT use Gorilla Glue as that junk expands, CA glue wouldn't give you much time to work with it. Maybe some brush contact cement?

I dabbed a thin layer on the exposed particle board and the flap of vinyl. I then clamped with a wood block wrapped in wax paper or you could use the backing from vinyl side art. Let it dry under pressure, but without some backing like the wax paper, the clamp/block would of course be stuck down. I let it dry overnight, carefully remove the clamp, block, backing paper.

To re-stick side art or decals on games, kids love to peel decals off the games in the arcade, I use a contact cement which comes in a tube. You have to be careful as some types of contact cement like Welders will attack plastic and vinyl. The stuff I use is called UHUpor and it's foam safe and works on anything. I usually buy it from HobbyKing or Ebay.

Just spread it on both surfaces thin, let dry 10 to 15 minuets and press it in place and your done.
