Peeled back the SMB2 sticker and underneath is an RBI sticker. Has anyone else encountered this "mythical" game sticker before on their board?? I know boards are reconditioned sometimes but with everyone iffey on the existence of Shatterhand & RBI, obviously they were out there or never reached the end of production.

Maybe they really do exist.... And so the debate shall continue....

If it is found I am sure that somebody will pay a ridiculous amount for it. But I personally think that RBI sucked and Baseball Stars was way better.

Question? What made you decide to pull back that sticker?? Just wondering??

I had an SMB3 that had those new printed style stickers that you see on reconditioned boards, or Dr. Mario. It was all crooked and you can see a sticker under it. So I peeled it back, said SMB3 but it made me curious so I looked at a few others. I could see the SMB2 had a sticker under the sticker so I peeled it back. Viola!

For future reference, if you place a flashlight behind the PCB, you should be able to see what is behind it without destroying the current one. But still an awesome find!

These have been found before like this originally. The game still was not released.

Hey your on NA too. I continue to discuss RBI,Shatterhand etc because amongst most, and to a previous post I had on NA stated that about NG3 too. I have information different to that fact. So I continue the discussion.

And when one is discovered DreamTR has the bounty out for this game that would blow anybody's high bid out of the water. :)

Yes, I've seen records of the RBI sticker stuck below another sticker on numerous occassions.

From what I have read is that RBI was released but all the boards had problems and Nintendo couldn't fix them. So they gave credit towards a new game with the return of the RBI board. If that is correct then I bet every operator did return them to get their money back.

^ They didn't have problems with the boards; Nintendo was pissed off at Tengen for releasing unlicensed carts for their NES and immediately pulled production on their three licenced Tengen titles (one of which was RBI Baseball) and never acknowledged their existence again. Ergo it's more likely, due to the timing of things, that these RBI PlayChoice cards were in the midst of being produced in one of Nintendo's factories somewhere when word came down on Tengen's Shenanigans, and thus production was immediately ceased and all of the completed RBI PlayChoice boards were stripped of their EPROMS and successfully "re-purposed."

Ya, I never heard of "issues" with the PCBs, the Tengen thing is on target with what I found out too, hence the game never came out.
