RB Tapper boardset saves HS, but Tapper boardset doesn't

I've been running a RB Tapper boardset for awhile with no issues, and finally decided to replace it with a Bud Tapper boardset (the cab is Bud Tapper). The battery on the power supply had been replaced when I originally fixed up the cab and like I said, worked like a charm with the Rb Tapper boardset. Now, for some reason, it doesn't want to save high scores for the Bud Tapper boardset. I did add a Free Play rom to the Bud Tapper boardset, so not sure if that's having an effect. Anything else I should be checking? This happens even if I fill the high score table with scores before powering down.

The Free Play ROM saves scores....so I would check and make sure that you are getting the VBATT line to the G5 RAM on the CPU PCB (middle board) Check the from the large J1 connector pin16. I recall one of my MCR PCB's having a jumper removed, that stopped the VBATT voltage from getting to the RAM.
