Raw Thrills Terminator Salvation "connect I/O board" error

I'm not sure if Terminator is one but some of the Raw Thrills games you need to reload the software after making a BIOS change. Seems like they build some sort of hardware list on setup. Sorry, it's hard to keep track, some use Windows and some Linux. Sometimes they switch between the OS between software releases. I know that I have had to reload Terminator after I swapped the guns out a few times when testing.

I've had this problem with a Drift cabinet once, have you tried cleaning the usb connector? Better yet, try replacing the USB cord, sometimes if that goes bad, it will not detect the i/o board.

The I/o board is serial, not usb
Oh, ok, can you show a picture of the board? Just to see where it's connected to on the PC, sometimes if it's plugged into a second serial port, it won't detect it.

The pc only has 1
This may sound stupid, but have you tried any of these methods?

-Cleaning the Jamma pins on the board

-Looked for possible unplugged plugs

-reseating the Jamma harness

-reseating the connectors that go from the board to the pc.

-cleaning the connectors with a cleaning solution (Isopropyl alcohol, contact cleaner)

-use a different serial cable.

if none of these work then that means the board is possibly damaged, depending on stuff like a cold solder joint on one of the components, or one of the caps could possibly be bad, but I highly doubt that.

Yes. I've tried all of those and this is a brand new board from betson
Brand new, so did this problem start with the old board? Because if so, than it's possible you may have to reinstall the software, if you have reinstalled the software, try again because it may have not installed the i/o functions correctly, contact raw thrills about your issue as well, they may be able to help you

I tried to reinstall the software again and it installed successfully, but still have the same "connect i/o board" error. Trying the new pc next, once the serial card delivers.

I see... ok then, hopefully the new PC works

Turns out it was the PC. Bought a Dell 3010 with an intel i5, swapped in the video card from the old pc, added a serial pcie card and a ssd. Loaded the software and it works great!! A lot faster and smoother than the old dell 740. My old repaired I/O board works as well... sending the new I/O board back to Betson!

thanks for all the help everyone!
