Trying to avoid buying the $895 Dell computer for the Big Buck Pro's and the Fast and Furious from Raw Thrills. Getting difficult to find the motherboards that they write the software for. I'm afraid they will just stop writing software for the old stuff and force everyone to spend the $895 to keep these games running. Our company has a lot of Big Buck Pro's on the route and it takes a lot of quarters to pay for that kind of expense. These games are written in Linux, if I just knew how to insert drivers for the hardware...

I've been experimenting with BBH Pro, found a few different mobos that can run it it other than the two raw thrills uses. Nvidia video and Realtek audio is your friend

What motherboards work?

I'm curious what you've learned through your experiments and experience. I have a BBHP World that has the old crappy Microtel and I want to replace it as cheaply as possible. Can I just buy an off the shelf 740 Desktop? I keep hearing about some fuse board or something that I wouldn't have since I have a Microtel. Not sure what this board is or if I need it. I'm pretty sure I don't need the watchdog board with the Dell.

Any Dell Optiplex 740 will work. Desktop, Mini tower...

All you have to do is wire in that extra board. It goes to the power. It is stuck on the inside of the current PC in there.
I know for Big Buck Hunter Pro, you needed to load the latest software for it to work on a Dell.

I just did this a couple months ago. I have the version 1.25 of the software that is needed. If you get it from the manufacturer, it is $25.

Sorry to bring this from the dead but I have a quick question...
I'm trying to get a couple of spare desktops in case the originals go bad, will the Dell Optiplex 780 series desktops work or do they have to be 740s ?
