Due to numerous emails, I will be making a limited run of 20 Raster Monitor Test Aids. This is a 5 foot monitor extension harness that will allow you to test and adjust most Raster monitors with ease.

I do not have any pics for you to see at this time. Maybe one of the two Prototype owners will post some for all to see. The prototypes have been in use for a few weeks now, and tested pretty thoroughly with various different Raster monitors.

I expect to have these ready to ship by Friday. Please keep in mind that this is a limited run, and I am only making 20.

You talking about cable extensions?

I just recently came across a remote monitor board that apparently can be used with G07's, K4900's, etc. It was attached to a 13" G07. I need to do a little more testing on it to see what it can do besides color....

Yes

cool

How much they gonna cost ?

$25 shipped

You mean like the same extension cables that Bob Roberts offers? Or something different?

-Tim

Very close to what Bob has but a little different. My take on it, was to make them as close to "dummy proof" as possible.

Mine has a 9 pin male header, with a 6 pin female connector & a 3 pin female connector. It is a straight pass through, that is almost impossible to hook up wrong. Just plug it into what you have and go to work. No need to shift any wires, no guess work, neg sync, pos sync, comp sync, doesn't matter.

I have one of these prototypes, I cant cant tell you how many times I have had to pull monitors to test in other machines. Sometime you can back machines up real close and the cables will reach, but thats still a pain.

These extensions are so cool. 5' long make them reach with ease. I have used them on several machines in the last few months.

I had a Satans Hollow Ct monitor was bouncing. The seller told me to pull the chassis and mail it to him for repair. I told him I would like to test it first. Being a cocktail I could not simply back it up to another machine the connectors would have never reached. I would have had to pull another monitor and set it next to the cocktail, then pull the one in the cocktail to test in another machine.

I Hooked this extension up first from my Robotron Mini to the bouncing Satans Hollow monitor. still bounced. then I hooked up the Satans hollow to the robotron mini no bounce. It took a few seconds to hook this up instead of the time to swap monitors.

Found out later a shield was removed on the powersupply in the Satans Hollow. The transformer feedback was causing then bounce.

This extension harness is priceless!!!

BTW - for bench testing, I set up a switch between the syncs so I could connect both positive and negative to the bench monitor, and choose which I wanted to use without having to change the connector or wiring position...

1. I don't need one, but this sounds like a GREAT tool.

2. djw90, your Robotron mini is painted black on the inside, too. Someone had questioned why mine was; looks like they probably came that way. Kewl.

No need for a sync switch with this unit, as it is a straight pass through. Whatever you put in, is what you get at the monitor.

You can hook up the 6 pin connector and the 3 pin connector to your monitor and leave them attached to your monitor. Then whatever boardset or sync option you connect to the header will be correct at the monitor.

Yes the paint on the inside is original, from what I was told. Its a perfect match to the outside black. This is a question I asked the original seller, he said he saw 4 that were black inside too. you can also see the little paper stapled inside is original over the black paint.

I got one of the protos too. Thanks for posting the pics. Great cable for my test bench. Now that I know what they cost - paypal sent for the proto cable - your "gift" is on it's way.....

Thanks Bill! No payment was needed, I send out prototypes to random people to get a feel for how the end user feels about something and to get their feedback.

YellowDog tested the Williams AC Harness, and provided the feedback that led to the switcher Mod option for that harness.

Hey dave did you get a chance to finish these this week? You ready for payment yet?

I will have these ready to ship out Monday the 8th, barring any more set backs. I forgot that the Wife was having surgery on her feet today, and yesterday was a total loss.

I will be putting up a thread in the for sale section shortly. I am only making 20 of these, and I think we have something like 5 already spoken for at this time.
