Hi,
I was getting lots of questions in another thread so it was recommended I start a dedicated one.
I make a JAMMA adaptor for RaspberryPi. It converts a pi (pi2 recommended) to a JAMMA board which can be used in any JAMMA cab with no modification to the cab. The board can be setup to do whatever you want, although it's only been used for emulators so far, as far as I know.
I have been working on this now for a couple of years and am on version 2 (not counting the handmade proto). It's a high quality pcb made in Australia and hand assembled by me. The board can do non-interlaced lowres video through JAMMA, has amplified mono sound and supports 2 players with 6 buttons each, 2 start, 2 coin, test and service. I also have a software build for it with 3 different MAME versions and FBA_next, unfortunately the downloads have been taken down and I haven't re-uped yet so no links at the moment. There is a fairly long thread on AussieArcade which was sort of my build log during this project. http://www.aussiearcade.com.au/showthread.php/67986-JAMMA-board-from-Raspberry-PI the earliest stuff in the thread at AA is no longer relevent as pi2 wasn't out yet and many other aspects have improved since then.
I think the only unanswered question from the forget the 19in1 thread was 'can you run just one game as though it was a dedicated board?' Yes, you can. I made a setup that does just that as I have a Space Stranger 2 cab with no SS2 board and never see Yachiyo boards up for sale. There is a script which can be edited however you see fit, which runs after the pi boots, ordinarily it launches advmenu but you can run anything that works on a pi.
There is a downside to my board though, some multisync monitor just don't like its signal. I don't own one to figure out why though and have done very little testing on this. Oh, and the video isn't amplified so if you cannot get enough brightness/gain out of the chassis you would need a video amp like Ultimarcs.
No video to show yet, although a couple of people who have them have said they're doing one, so hopefully there will be video soon I guess.
