Ive been asked to scan the Satans Hollow poster so people can repro them or have them reprinted, but I dont have a scanner large enough. Are there any recommendations on how to do it?

thanks.

Jon

Wow! Love that poster.
1st prize a t-shirt, but what is the "Super shooter" merit award for 2nd-4th? Couldn't quite make it out. ;)

Someone on here took an NBA jam control panel to a Staples or something and they were able to scan it in.

I wonder if Rich from This Old Game could scan it, plus he would be able to reprint it for sure with good quality.

I scanned the side of the Satan hollow's cab a while back. Just scan the poster in sections, making sure that your scans overlap and the images can then be stitched together.

Scanning

Make sure to have them scan it at 300dpi at the least.. Have them save it as a .tiff file as it's the best format for reprinting.. Jepgs are ok, but you'll loose some of the information.. Overlapping is key, as it can be a real bitch to stitch it together if it's not overlapped..

hey jon, so since we talked about this i've been calling around about the satan's hollow one. fedex/kinkos will scan it for $20 (they have large scanners), and then if you want to have ones made it's like $7.50 / square foot printed. so if you can scan it, i'll cover the $20 for that, and then if i could get a copy of the file or whatever i'll have one printed for me. i didn't think to ask if they put it on a cd or whatever for you once scanned.

Hopefully they'll still scan it once they see it. I had someone in California and me in Illinois check several different Kinkos to scan a Thayer's Quest kingdom map and they all flinched when the heard or saw it was a copyrighted document. Does the poster have any copyright markings on it?

I love that Red Baron poster, I had never seen one, and I would love to buy it if reproduced.

it's got a couple of trademark markings on it if you look at the pic. i'll call fedex tuesday and see if that makes a diff. i also found another place that does drum scanning or something like that for big sized shit here in denver, but didn't call them yet once i found fedex does it.

That's a really nice collection of posters there Jon! I had to wipe the drool off my chin after looking at them all. :beerchug:

I like to see all those get redone! Especially that Two Tigers and Time Pilot! I think the only one being a real problem is the Gottlieb Haunted House....

I would def. be down for purchasing both repro Haunted House and Red Barron posters! Amazing!

That Two Tigers poster is cool, too. I would love to have the TT and Red Barron framed, side by side.

Forgot to add, I'd love to get a repro'd Tempest poster.

And as an owner of a Red Baron poster... I'd wouldn't mind in the least if they were repro'd as I think the price of the originals is flat out ridiculous. Buying 5 or 6 repro's for the price of one original is something to dream about I guess. :D
