I'm solarizing my house. While very cool, it's also going to cost a lot, so I'm considering selling a few of my rarer games to reduce the debt level a bit.

This is not a fire sale - I'm not desperate for cash or anything so I'm not going to sell a Major Havoc for $500 or anything. But I have several fairly rare games that people have inquired about at times that I generally wouldn't sell, but would consider it right now for about what I paid for them.

So if you're interested in buying any of these game in the Southern California area, then pm me for condition and price.

  • Major Havoc
  • I, Robot
  • Tapper
  • Food Fight
  • Star Wars
  • Marble Madness

Just an update on this...

I think I've now replied to everyone who inquired about one or more of the games. Unfortunately, they're starting construction tomorrow, so I not only didn't have time to pull out and photograph the games people are interested in, but I had to cram more stuff in in front of the games in the garage.

Hopefully it'll be clear next weekend so I can pull out enough games and stuff to get to Major Havoc and I, Robot and the other games people wanted to see pictures of.

cheers,
John

So I thought I would go out this weekend, pull several of the games out of the garage to make room to shoot pictures of the games people expressed interest in...

then I came home from work last night to this:

They did the demolition on the old part of the patio that was cracked and badly poured, but they haven't hauled it away yet. That pile of rubble is where I would have been putting a few games temporarily to make room to shoot the games buried deeper in the garage. So I guess I won't be taking pictures until at least next week when they come back to haul away the rubble and pour the new cement.

I'd love to have an I-Robot , but I probably couldn't afford one even at fire sale prices. Maybe if it was actually on Fire when the guy was wanting to unload it. But them, I'm sure someone on Craigslist would beat me to it. ;)

(I should retitle the thread "Rare [and not so Rare] games potentially for sale")

Okay, I finally got the first set of pictures up, with a separate post for each
game. I'll probably throw a couple more games into the fray once I get another
chance to unload the front part of the garage so I can get to the other side.

Here are links to the posts:

Note that on all of these games, I'll make an offer that I stated in a couple of the
posts. If you buy the game now and decide later you don't want it, I'd be willing
to buy it back later this year when I get my debt back down (maybe July or August).
This of course assumes the games are still in the same general condition. You could
think of it as loaning me money, where the interest I'm paying you is use of a nice
arcade game for several months.

I'm probably going to not sell any of these until one last arcade party - one last
chance to enjoy the full "arcade" effect before I sell off half the games to reduce
some dept. And of course, you're all welcome to come to the party (when I decide
for sure on a date for the party, I'll let you know) - possibly even to bring home your
game when you leave.

One last thing - the other games I'm likely to list are Robotron, 720 Degrees, a Multi-Pac upright (Ms Pac art), Tempest, and Asteroids Cocktail. I probably won't be selling Frontline, Food Fight, or Major Havoc at this time.
