Rank your games by popularity when you have guests over.
1- NEO*GEO 4 Slots
Current lineup is Samurai Shodown, Viewpoint, Bust a Move and Magical Drop 3.
My most played cab simply for Bust a Move. Kids LOVE that game and are drawn to it like flies to sugar. They challenge each other, or just coop thru single player mode all the time. Whenever I have guests over, the neogeo is occupied the entire time. Sadly Samurai and Viewpoint gets no gameplay at all. Magical Drop is an alternative to Bust-A-Move that does get a decent amount of gametime..
2- Showcase cabinet with VIRTUA TENNIS
Another game that gets played all the time when people are over -- the nice graphics are attractive (even if my screen happens to be suffering from a shaking effect at the bottom right but its tolerable), and people love to play head to head. Interestingly enough this cab is ignored when I put Virtua Fighter 4 ("Its too complicated") in it. It gets moderate playtime when I have Marvel Vs Capcom 2 in it from boys but they usually run over to the Mortal Kombat cab after a while. Virtual Tennis is pretty much going to be a mainstay in that cabinet.
3- My mame bartop
The kids think its awesome to have a mini-machine but the machine is constantly hogged by adults trying games they played in their youth. Galaga, Paperboy and Burgertime are the most played games.
3- Super Chase HQ
A surprise hit! The cabinet is in good shape, except for a somewhat greenish tint in the pictures. Kids and Adults LOVE that game. I got it for mega cheap (local market for game is usually 600-800$ for a game in decent shape, i got this one for 200, delivered). People love the flashing police lights and the gameplay is simple enough so that young kids can enjoy it. Some of them even team up -- one player drive, the other switch gears and activate the turbo button. Women are also very into that game.
4- Mortal Kombat
A big hit with the kids and of course my friends who grew up on this game during their teenage years. My younger female cousins for some reasons are really into this game, and challenge each other to endless matches of 'Sonya Vs Sonya'. I taped a printout of the special moves on the side of the cabinet and its hilarious to see kids learning the moves.
5 - 6 (tie) NBA JAM and Killer Instinct
Awesome games, but both get ignored (!!) by most of my guests. Killer Instinct looks amazing and only gets playtime from people my age. The game is too intimidating and complicated for kids. NBA JAM seems to be confusing. Kids lose track of who they are controlling and games always end up in marathons of throwing the ball across the court. Older guests are nostalgic about it but the hard AI usually turn them off after a few minutes.
And there you have it.
