I'm interested in how the different Sega pins from the 90s stack up against eachother. I haven't had a chance to play most of these, but have always been intrigued by them.

Apollo 13
Batman Forever
Godzilla
Goldeneye
Independence Day
Lost in Space
Frankenstein
Starship Troopers
Lost World
Twister

I've spent some time with Baywatch and X-Files and like them both, but would rank Baywatch well ahead.

I have also played BW and really liked it. I have an offer for a Frankenstein and would love to know what people think about it.
The only other pin on the list I have played is twister, it was a blast on multiball startup, think whirlwind's big brother :)

I think Goldeneye and Godzilla had smaller production runs, but Goldeneye would be my choice of the two.

Lost in Space was also extremely limited prouduction..I think IPDB has it pegged at 600 (!?) made? It's got the same magnet lock+spinner multiball startup that twister does, and looks like X-Men LE is going to have.

*edit* All three designed by John Borg. Imagine that. =P

I loved Starship Troopers the few times I played it. I am currently on the hunt for a Lost World under $1500.

Having played all and shopped 2 - here is my order:

Apollo 13
Godzilla
Lost World
Batman Forever

Independence Day
Lost in Space
Starship Troopers
Twister

Goldeneye
Frankenstein

The top group are in my "Like" catagory.
The middle group all seem the same to me.
The bottom two bore me to tears.

Funny - I shopped Apollo 13 and Frankenstein - opposite ends of my choices. But think about it - "Who could hate 13 ball multiball"?

I couldn't ever get 13 ball multi started at TPF, but saw someone else do it. The REAL wizard mode is to trap all 13 balls without draining any. ;)

Segas

I have actually owned most of these, and still have two (Godzilla and Lost In Space). I am a Sega fan actually, and like most of their pins. Starship Troopers is their best (I think--and I will own one again). I love Godzilla, and Lost in Space is pretty good. I had a Twister (loved it), and I owned a ID4 (pretty fun). All of them are generally much simpler rulesets than Williams/Bally stuff, but I suck at pinball, so that works out :)

I will probably buy an X-Files eventually (I am a fan of the show), and I actually like Frankenstien.

Baywatch was actually a lot more fun than I expected--I regret getting rid of it. Lost World I think is kinda weak, and Viper just makes me sad :)

Not big on Frankenstein but Batman Forever is awesome! One of my favorite pins for sure.

I've not played the most of them. But I owned a Frankenstein for a while. I think its more of a flow pin. Its about hitting ramps in the proper sequence and doesn't control very easily. So I sold it and have no regrets about selling it. It was fun, and flowed well, but I just never got any feeling of excitement while playing it.....at all. As matter of opinion, I'd probably try staying away from the Sega pins with the larger displays. 400-500 bucks to put a new display in it is just too much.

Thats an easy thing to do, just don't hit the flippers, once the center post drops the balls are perfectly interlocked and stay in place (well unless you flip or shake the machine too much).

This is my order. I used to own an Apollo 13 and still own my Independence Day pinball. I really wish I still had my Apollo 13, was tons of fun.

Apollo 13
Independence Day
Twister
Starship Troopers
Lost World
Batman Forever
Goldeneye
Frankenstein

*Games below I have not yet played:
Lost in Space
Godzilla

Not sure if I can accurately rate them all, but here are some comments on what I'm familiar with:

Really like SST a lot. On my want list--a fun game with good modes and killing bugs (colored standups) to advance can be challenging. The screechy noise gets old tho.

Really like LW too--still own the one I got NIB. Very fast, not so deep but has 5 distinct modes that are tough and don't share a single shot between any two.

I like Goldeneye a lot--haven't played it in a long time but would rank it up there. Same with Independence Day.

Have never played Godzilla, and only vaguely recall Twister and Frankenstein. T and F would rank below my other choices above. Haven't played Batman Forever in, like, forever, but it seemed fun when I did. Same with Apollo 13.
