I've seen Randy's DVDs and books (and classes while he did them) advertised for a very long time now... though I have never seen them.

I was curious how well regarded they are.... What do people think of them?

Thanks,

Greg

Randy Is THE MAN!!! Yes it is worth every penny!

If you take the class, it's a little more of a beginner level class (which it should be). He starts at the beginning and works through the theory, which is good.

Some of them are on youtube (or were) so you could check them out to see what you think before buying the entire set...

I have his online subscription which includes his DVD's broken up into podcasts as well as PDF's of his "Big Blue Book" (lots of great technical info including flowcharts for monitors) and "Big Green Book" (monitor schematics). I think it's a great value and really good especially for beginners.

Good for beginners I guess. The production quality is so incredibly dated and at times garbled at this point not sure the price/value is there anymore.

Granted the production quality isn't great, but I guess what's the need to update a ton of his info? A lot of what he says holds as true now as it did back in the day, but to be fair, it would be nice to see updates for something like recommending replacement of the G07 flyback.

Great videos and the Big Blue Book still teaches me things. Best thing I ever bought. I am a beginner in the repair world and thats who this is geared for. Although the blue book might be a nice reference to people who arent experts yet.
