Tempted but I that could be scary learning how to f up stuff more than I already do. LOL
Free bump!!!!!!! Good luck with your sale. Looks like a pretty good buy.

LOL Yea, they werent what I was expecting. Its like he converted a VHS tape to DVD and he repeats himself ALOT! And the discs themselves are not very professional looking. I watched all the Monitor Repair Discs already and they had some great tips so it wasnt a total loss for me.

So are they worth $175? Im confused??

Sure they are, It just depends on the person and how much repair work you already know how to do. I've been doing this for a long time so it just wasnt a ton of "New" info for me.

HUMM ok I know I have seen these for sale from different people on here, from time to time. I have considered buying a set a few times. But have never really heard a review on them.

Go watch his repair videos on youtube and you will get an idea of the instruction. I think it is great for nubes and people that have not worked on a particular area before. Nice to have on a disc so you can fast forward etc. I have 2 discs with me on this trip to watch again to get a refresher as I cannot always "keep my head in the game"

1. It is invaluable instruction for newb's.
2. All that material is available in dl podcast in his Tech Dept. for waaaay less - a 59.00 annual subscription fee.
3. Subscribing to his website helps him continue to help us. Buying 2nd hand does not.

4. Did I mention the tech dept. is waaay cheaper and has everything on those DVD's?

:D

:cough: :cough: torrents?

I personally don't think that's the way to go with these. Screw the studios, but Randy produced these on his own dime for people like you and me. Ripping to torrents will devalue the original media and make it impossible for the original IP owner to make a buck. I personally think the disks are worth the asking price. I coughed up for a set, learned a lot, and I felt good about supporting the little guy.

I would like to point out that selling second hand is part of the cost of doing business. Anyone that distributes media knows that it is totally legal and definitely going to happen. I imagine the amount of resale of Fromm videos that occur each year hardly affect any of Randy's bottom line. Yes, I do support Randy and it is up to the original owner to have scruples and not make copies of them. All of your statements are indeed true but I like having the DVD's personally. Yes, I bought my set used.

yup I bought my set used and I learned a TON. Its totally cheap looking and cheesy but the actual information contained within the DVDs really taught me a lot of the basics. I converted mine to MP4's so I can watch them on my iPhone.

What is Randy's web site?

I have a set of DVD's from him as well that I might be able to part with. Ill have to go pull em out of storage. PM if interested. DOnt have 13 in my set I think I have 6.

I might have another set for sale. I was talking to a friend of mine about the DVDs and some of the stuff I learned from them and he was like "Hey I think I bought a set of those a couple years ago!" He's looking for them now , since he isnt into the whole forum thing I'm gonna list them for him if they are really RF DVDs and in good shape.

LOL, c'mon, selling the set at 175.00, I'll bet there are a lot of people with a friend that has a spare set too. (wink---nod)

Anyone wanting this material should do the ethical (and cheaper) thing and sign up for his tech department.
