So, I was picking up a battery for my T2 at Radio Shack. The worker thought it was an odd battery and asked me what it was for. She got all excited and tells me they just got Ataris in today. Obviously im all ears. "Do you want to see it?" Do fat kids like cake? Of course I do. She goes to the back and comes out with an Atari box. Im probably way late to this party but ill share anyway. Not bad for 49.99

I cracked one open at my store today(I may work at a shack), the wireless paddles included are pretty bad for Warlords, pong didn't function for some reason, and if you play space invaders and reset to the menu the whole screen shifts a little to the right and down.

Everything else is cool though, was kicking my buddy's ass at basketball

ive heard about those. I do dig the idea of a retro console like that.

Does it also play original cartridges or just plays the games internal to the system?

Speaking as a past Radio Shack general manager, I can say that will be super discounted after Christmas. Does look neat though.

You ARE indeed way late, but it's alright... there wasn't a party anyways...

It does not, can use the original controllers though, the Flashback 2 runs on an Atari2600-on-a-chip so you can put a cart slot on it, but the 3 and 4 are ARM based emulators

Fun story, IIRC the original Flashback was an NES-on-a-chip with all of the games ported over

I have what I think is the Flashback3. I have had it since June and I believe I have played it for about an hour total. Most of the games are ones I have never heard one.

there's a Sega Genesis version of this as well. One of the retailers has these as a Black Friday special for $29ea but I can't remember where I saw it -- TRU, WM, or Target.

I remember seeing a sega genesis knock off at walgreens for $30, picked it up, sound emulation was terrible, but the fact you could load any old genesis rom on an SD card and pop it in with no modification was nice!

I picked one of those up last year, tried a half dozen wall warts and found I didn't have any that fit it, so it has sat untouched on top of my console TV ever since. One of these days.....
