Hey guys,
Just wanted to put myself out here to help if you need anything. I have my BFA in Graphic Design and am finishing my Masters in Digital Media here in a few weeks.
Just some pointers. And please don't take this as me putting anyone down, b/c I want to see an amazing final product as well.
Whoever is taking the photographs or scan of the CPO should be very extremely careful because if the camera is tilted a degree off of the parallel X or Y axis the whole thing will be off. Taking these photographs needs to be extremely methodical. Making sure the CP is perfectly level. The camera should also be leveled at each location for each of the shots. 600dpi will not mattered if the lens is not perfectly focused.
And then, after the photos are done perfectly, you will need a professional to stitch them together. Otherwise, you will get someone who thinks they can use Photoshop, and they can decently, but blurred lines or improper techniques will be used. One additional thing to take into consideration. Colors change from PC to MAC, so depending on what you are working on, and what the final printer is using, the colors could be off. The colors from the CPO will change in every single location you take it to, so color correction will be needed as well. Smaller things such as dirty masher marks and other random damages will have to be removed and fixed utilizing Photoshop as well.
I want to see this done, and if I can I will help out. Please just take these things into consideration, and know I'm not trying to be rude or discredit anyone. I just have read how everyone would want it to be as perfect as possible, and it takes some very careful work.
PM me if you want help, or need suggestions.
