Rampage Conversion to Rampage World Tour??? Who Dares?

I didn't see anything posted so I figured I would ask.
Anyone transformed their RAMPAGE by Midway to a Rampage World Tour??

I know the Rampage board is not a JAMMA, but I believe that the Rampage World Tour is a JAMMA.

I wonder how hard it would be to turn it into a World Tour, OR put BOTH boards in it.

Thoughts??

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Ground Kontrol in Portland has a World Tours inside of a Rampage cab.

I wonder what it would take. The graphics and game play of World Tour is so much more fun than the original Rampage.
I guess you would have to pretty much gut everything and then JAMMA it. Damn, I really don't want to do that.
I wonder if there is an adapter that would go to JAMMA. That would allow me to plug in a World Tour board into the cab.

Well you could just wire over top of the other stuff in the cabinet. Then connect the game to the JAMMA harness when you wanted to play it. But there is a problem I belive you would have to add an extra button to the CP for each player.

I have looked into this and honestly, it appears that you would be better served to Jamma the Rampage cab and then build an adaptor to play the original Rampage board. Building a Rampage cab to Jamma adaptor is slightly more complicated due to the fact that the Rampage cab uses a seperate audio amp.

A local collector wants me to do this to his machine as well as install a 25" monitor in the Rampage cab. Personally, I don't like the idea of the 25" monitor, but I don't have a problem with the Jamma harness.

I put a 25" monitor in a Rampage cab - http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=187196 (was already converted when I got it)... IMO, it should have had a 25" to begin with. That cab is WAY too big for just a 19" monitor.

You do have to drop the shelf that the monitor sits on, and of course the monitor bezel w/ art won't fit the new monitor.

Interesting. Yes, that monitor is to small for a 3 player game in that large of a cab.
You are correct though, with three separate boards (amp, audio and pcb) it will be difficult to JAMMA the cab while saving the original Rampage.
Plus, I did not know that I would have to add another button. That kind of sucks. My CP is in excellent condition and I would hate to drill into it.
