I was at D&B last night for a buddies party and I usually don't have much fun at D&B cause I can't stand the lineup. All shooters and drivers, mostly crappy stuff that corporate could negotiate at bulk rates. (very few gold and silver age stuff)

One game that I watched someone play and wanted to give a shot at was Rambo. As cheesy as you can imagine. Sega did a great job at it. It paid homage to the movies {inter-splicing widescreen video (HD/)throughout} and then using gameplay based on cut scenes.

My friend died earlier on but I must have played like 15-20 mins with one swipe. The gun especially seemed to make it feel immersive with it's kickback and the way that the shoulder butt works with it. I didn't fully figure how it works cause i was way into the game. As much as I love shooting zombies/undead, this was a departure from other Sega stuff and it was really fun and well designed.

* Killing off officers first to lower moral. (makes it easier) etc...
* The arrow one shot tasks.

I didn't even figure out all of the gameplay/and weapon buttons and I just jumped right in.

Anyone else give this shooter a try?
It may very well be the very best movie/license gun/shooter game I've ever played.

I played this at the d&b in md a couple months ago and I have to agree it was a very good game. I am a Rambo fan so my opinion might be biased. I think I drained about $15 worth of credits going through to the end but I was playing solo most of the way. They definately picked the best movie sequences.

I played the new Rambo at Gameworks here in Cincinnati / Northern KY and I was a bit pissed off. Not at the game itself but the fact that the game had NO sound.. It was either broke or the place had it muted but either way that made the experience suck pretty bad.

I am a Rambo fan, and have not seen this game yet. They do have a D&B near me so I will hope they have one.
Seems like the Rambo fame is a little tooooooo late though. It would have been better in the 80's. But then again, most arcade games WERE better in the 80's.
Still, I will have to check this game out!

Sega's not doing so hot. Maybe it was a cheap license to market to the US. They have done enough HOTD.

It was a pretty great game however. I liked using the rifle more than any other gun periferal to date. It got my whole body into it. I haven't played any of those others like Aliens although... they looked lame. If you guys like gun shooters, you must try this game.

It runs on Lindbergh hardware. (xbox)

I read somewhere that it was a DLP monitor but this one looked like LCD/Plasma

There was a Rambo movie in '08, and there were plans for Rambo 5 last year, but then it got canned. Might have been some sort of planned tie-in for the cancelled movie that they decided to release anyway.

Oh yeah, I own the newest movie. It was actually pretty good.
Perhaps they are trying to resurrect it for this generation? Watch out, Tron will be next!
