Dave's work is an asset to the community but it seems he could be a bit more organized. It's now probably going on 5 months or more and I'm still waiting on a part that he has in stock. We've emailed and PMed back and forth and so far still no part. Not slamming the guy and not knocking his work. Just would like to get the item I paid for. I really don't believe he has any bad intentions. Maybe he can strike a deal with another vendor in his area where the other person would sell his stuff for him. This might ensure items get shipped out in a timely manner and would free up more time for Dave to fabricate his repros.
 
So the first controller goes to a freakin mame set up. Please tell me its at least vector mame with a vector monitor. If not, watch out for lightning bolts striking your mame cab from the heavens above.
 
Of course it went to a MAME. Think about it. How many Star Wars machines have you seen that are completely missing the yoke or that the yoke is so badly damaged as to not being repairable? You don't think there is some guy with a Star Wars with a damaged yoke on it chompin' at the bit for the last 3 years waiting for a NEW yoke to come out when his old reparable one is sitting on his cabinet?

It stands to reason that the majority of these new yokes are going to MAME projects of one kind or another... that is why Dave's evidently producing a USB converter as well.

The parts that most "dedicated" arcade enthusiasts have wanted has been available for some time now... the yoke repair kits.

Running on an LCD no less - Muhahaha! Too freaking bad. Would you rather I rape a dedicated cab for parts? That's something I wouldn't want to do.

Frizz nailed it - why would you wait so long for a new yoke when you can just rebuild your original with the kits that Dave has available? Unless you're not up to the task, I suppose that could be it...
 
I am patiently waiting on mine as well, so who gets #2?

PS: I am genuinely sorry if I somehow hurt your feelings... it wasn't intentional... I just call it as I see it and sure as hell can't look past the repeated BS just because he's delivered "in the past". Sorry... SlikStik delivered in the past too and do a search on what Chris did to the MAME community...

BTW - How am I "the enforcer" when I have absolutely no "power" to "enforce" anything? I guess pointing out the OBVIOUS is enforcing? I guess having an opinion on something is "enforcing" something? You are going to win the battle and lose the war. I hope it's worth it because no one else is going to make what Dave is making. Could his customer service be better ? Yes. But posts like this won't help the matter, that's for sure.

That is an older post... but I maintain my position remains unchanged. If you want to drop to your knees and look past his lies because of the possibility of him producing something in the future, go right ahead. I, for one, won't compromise my values because the guy's made stuff in the past, will make stuff in the future, or has given away free stuff to people.

A duck is a duck... and Dave has been quackin' for many many moons.

If this was just about ANY ONE ELSE in the community... ANY ONE... they'd have been driven out of Dodge. You all can kiss his ass all you want. I refuse.
