Ugh...
1) You contacted RAM CONTROLS asking if he was going to make good on his obligations because you needed parts.
2) Dave/Adam/Dan said "yes, we are in the process of filling orders... we'll send you your parts free of charge if you help spread the word"...
Me? No, I wouldn't give a rat's ass about free anything.
I risked a few bucks placing an order on his site, put a note on the PP payment that said something to the effect of "if I don't get a tracking number in 2-3 days, I'm filing a claim with PP to freeze the funds", and got my stuff. I haven't bothered reading about his exploits in something like 6 months or a year... actually that whole repro cockpit thing was news to me as of a few days ago (did you guys buy into something that ambitious and unrealistic AFTER the yoke fiasco?).
And then a few days later I get the email in post 1, verbatim. No way would I actually put my rep on the line for him. Besides he was probably waiting for a big money order worth screwing me over on.
Just FYI, many of Dave's parts are out there from such vendors as Video Game Parts @
http://www.videogameparts.com/ ... Steven is a great guy and these parts were purchased "before" all hell broke out! However, I'm sure his stock isn't going to be replenished with RAM CONTROL parts when they are gone.
What is the deal there anyways? Everything on his site that I ended up picking up at Ram is listed as NOS. Is it NOS or repro? (specifically that would be logo stick plungers and pivot balls) If it is repro then I do apologize to Stephen because I'd have rather given him my [continued] business. I've spent well over $1000-1500 with him in the past, including a beautiful set of NOS Assault sticks.
I didn't really look anywhere else after Stephen's site tho to be honest, so I have no idea what these other retailers are you speak of.
Also the main thing I wanted (that was NOT an extra btw) were UGN3503U sensors for rebuilding my hall sticks. Couldn't find those on his site, and didn't have any luck on Google, Mouser, or Digikey.
Wow I should have just lied about buying anything recently and just said the email came out of the blue. What was a $50 gamble to me which paid off has apparently offended some here, and I apologize for that, but I didn't really directly hurt any of you and your money is already gone no matter what I did after the fact. Technically I also lost $100 or so off Ram previously as well (by buying high on a repro yoke, and then ending up with an extra I had to sell low once I got my pre-order and the market was saturated), so, yeah, shame on me.
@Arc: I don't mean to sounds incendiary, but you seem to almost have anger issues revolving around anything you don't like, and seem to be almost psychotic about this hobby. I did something selfish, but aren't you blowing things out of proportion? If you think I'm a dick for this that is okay, but my rep as a trader typically speaks for me in this hobby, and I pour a lot of hard earned money into our most valued resources (probably about $1500-2000 or so on repro artwork and parts alone in the past two months for spare stuff I will likely never use, not to mention several hundo worth of boards from members here, and a couple hundred in parts from Bob Roberts... and if any of the good folks working on Assault CPOs and side art currently asked me I'd front the funds for the whole run without giving it a second thought).
Hell, I think I've even had several perfectly good transactions with you in the past, didn't you buy one of my System 1 kits a while back? :/
