When I settled my order with Dan after he took over. He had to keep going to Dave to check with him. Notice how he says "our Projects".

There are several threads on here about the new "Dan Johnson" thing. There are also many threads with people posting about a recent trouble-free transaction with RAM, and then they get lynched. Luckily, you're a familiar old-school member here, and your OP sounded naive enough, hopefully the mob will let you live.

What some have mentioned here has real merit: just because you may be "hard up" for a difficult/impossible to find Atari part, buying that part from RC just soils the wounds of all that have been ripped off and will never get their money back or their SW cockpits delivered. There is more to it than just being "secure" in your own, personal transaction. So a solicitation for messages of "good will" for RC is just complete bunk, really..think it through.

Well take it for what it's worth I suppose. I got a couple orders recently (don't think I'm supporting the guy or anything btw, I just spent a couple hundos to get enough small stick parts and Nyogel to keep my games running until I die) which is good. And then, apparently, he tries to get me to put my rep on the line with an inconceivable story so he can give me and others the ol' Ram Jam.

For the record I had no plans to reply to the email, just passing the info along. And I don't need anything else from the guy personally, so I shouldn't have to deal with him anymore. Sorry to those who lost money to him, but it's a resource which as yet no one is duplicating, and I didn't stock up BitD when it was still PC to buy from him.

Short version.

I spoke to Dan in person on the phone awhile back.
... and unlike "Adam" , Dan is real, and not Dave.

The story he told me (...which is probably part truth, part fiction ),
is that he's known Dave a long time, they were room-mates once,
and Dave owed him alot money. (...gee, what a surprise )

When Dave got evicted from the house he rented on Randall Ranch Rd.
(...due to Foreclosure on the owner ), Dave turned over Ram Controls to Dan
as a partial re-payment, and a place to store his inventory .

Dan is not an arcade guy, so he still relies on Dave for help with the parts.

It a nice story, but I've been burnt enough by Dave, that I don't believe ANYTHING
that involves him. I think Dan is trying to help, but he's also protecting Dave.

What I do believe, is that Dan is NOT Dave
(... I've talked to both , and they are two different people ).

Dan knows the hate-on from Dave on this forum,
which is why he won't post and get massacred.

Instead, he sends individual e-mails.

So anyone who gets an e-mail from him looking to make restitution
SHOULD try to work out a deal, but I would NOT send any money .
I know of 6 or 7 people who got "something" from RAM CONTROLS recently,
which although wasn't always exactly what was ordered,
did at least compensate for the money owing.

Unfortunately, those of us owed large amounts of money
(re SW cockpits or other financial deals ) are still S-O-L.
... which is why I'm still working to sue Dave for restitution
(...but that's a WHOLE other thread...)
