Ram Controls is closing

It was a custom mold, just the like the other KLOVer (Chris85210 or something like that) had made that did the 720 molding first.

Since I was only 3 hours from Dave, I would ask every so often to visit his operation. There was always an excuse - moving the shop, machines broken down, work load for other projects keeps RAM stuff from being made, etc.

Then he would ask to borrow my NOS parts so he could make copies. A few months later he would ask to borrow the same parts again because he "lost" them, or the shop made them the wrong way, etc
I kind of think what he was doing was using my NOS parts to make complete assemblies so he could show/sell to people. Once 2 or 3 assemblies were out in the wild, people would get comfortable and place orders since the part was now "made".

Something never seemed right so I never sent out replacement parts to him.

All my dealings with RAM were always in person, in cash and at his house.

There's a rubber dog shit enthusiast forum?

Dude, this is the internet. There's a forum for EVERYTHING. If 3 people in the WORLD share an interest in something, there's a forum.

So yea, there's a rubber dog shit forum somewhere. It may only have 3 people posting on it, but it's there.

Maybe she won the case.

CARA HONIGSFELD VS. ADAM JUDD

She did...

...but now she's got to collect the money....

----

As someone who also lost alot of money to Dave/Adam
( most likely more than anyone else on this forum) I too have tried hard
to get my money back (and that of others), and have been in
fairly regular contact with Cara.

Her case had nothing to do with arcade parts but Dave/Adam used
RAM Controls as a "capital venture investment opportunity" to steal a significant
amount of money from her. More the enough for her to justify to expense
of getting lawyers, detectives, etc...

In my case, the legal costs would have quickly exceeded the money owed to me,
and the fact than I'm 3000 miles away (in another country) made it even less possible.

At one point, I had the help of prominent US lawyer, who was also on this board,
but that effort failed when his time became too valuable for this case.

I tried several times to find legal counsel willing to work for a percentage of winnings,
but found no takers despite the fact that is was a slam-dunk case.

I even tried a collection agency, ... but no dice...

[ BTW, I want to extend a BIG Thank You to many many members of this board
who provided me with help and info in this matter, but sadly without the funds (and proximity) to launch a proper legal campaign, there was very little I could do,
so I've very grudgingly gave-up on ever seeing my money again ]

---

From what I know from Cara, she spent two years, and several thousands of dollars
to track Dave/Adam down (hired a detective) , serve him with court papers,
went to trial, where she won a default judgement because he never showed up,
and is now in the process of trying to collect from him.

During this time, his "colleague" Jim Boomquist tried to liquidate the assets
of RAM Controls, to compensate himself for the money he claims Dave/Adam owed him.

Jim was also named in Cara's legal challenge,
but I don't know what judgement came of that.

---

So although I'll likely never see my money again,
I take solace in knowing Dave/Adam is going to have "some" pain
in having to re-imburse Cara

Jail would be better, but garnished wages is a good start...

About time they give up. I guess they ran out of people to scam.

"2/18/13 - It is with a sad heart that we must announce that Ram Controls is closing. Our ownership is moving on to other endeavors and we will be ending regular operations on March 1st 2013. Most of the remaining stock will be going into deep storage with a few key items being sold on this site or auctioned off on Ebay. Thank you all for your support and business though the years, it has been a pleasure serving the arcade community these past nine years. "

Deep storage, as in cement overshoes? Fresh water or salt water?

Personally, I don't believe it. The few key items are probably all that is really left, so all the attempts to buy said inventory have been and always will be futile, since it doesn't really exist.
