Whether you like Dave Adams and RAM Controls or not, his products are definitely of the highest quality available.

Got home last night, and there was my 2 1/4" track ball kit, and I must say it is amazing. I thought the 4" trackball kit was awesome, but now I am torn between the two.

Yes, these were items offered up by Dave for free. The first 4" trackball that I got, I didn't even get for myself. I got it for a friend, and installed it in his Missile Command for his birthday. I have never played a Missile Command with better control after installing the RAM controls 4" trackball kit.

Can't wait to install this 2 1/4" trackball kit.

IMHO Dave Adams is an asset to the community, even with all of his past problems and issues.

A simple stock check from RAM Controls can eliminate most of the problems. Simply put, find out if an item is in stock and ready to ship before putting your cash out there and all should be good to go.

I was playing my Missile Command last night and the controls could be better. Since Dokert gives the thumbs up i will give them another chance. I try to live by: don't judge a man by the mistakes he makes but how he corrects those mistakes. Dave got all his Yokes out and while it took a while (too long) he took it on the chin and has said he will do better. Dave builds the best parts in our hobby, there is no doubt. Hopefully i don't have to wait months like i did for Atari cones, but i think and hope for everyone including Dave that the long waits are over.

Going to RAM Controls to put in my order now, thanks Dokert

Update, Within the hour of putting my order in with RAM Controls Dave sent me a very nice email with the UPS tracking number and has shipped off my order. WOW, nice job Dave

Thanks,

I think Dokert's opinions are of high quality! Thanks! :)

I've never opened my missile command. I've had it a few months and the track ball feels like an old roller skate wheel with rusty bearings. Maybe this is what I need?

whats the difference between the 2 1/4 trakball he sells and the one that bobroberts sells?

i have 2 mc cocktails, both were none runners and had stood in someones lockup/garage for what seemed a long time, the rollers and bearings were well rusty and worn,i still have the old ones (if you dont think they cant get bad you will after i show you what they look like after 30 years)

anyways,i ordered rollers from bobroberts and they are happ ones, they didnt make much difference as the bearings and the trakball was bad,so i ordered the bearings and white trakballs and i replaced everything.

the boards were not working and i actualy bought a worker off someone here and they shipped the game to me here in uk,got the other day.well i thought everything would be hunkydorey but,the cross hair was hard to move as the idler bearing needed to be set right so the ball stayed on the rollers right.once that was done the controls feel smooth but,i like the fact they have a little feel also,i dont want them silky as i want to feel i have control of the ball rather than just throwing it and caution out of the window and letting the cross hair fly all over.

so what i am asking is!

whats so amazing about a 2 1/4 trakball?
:D

I will have to agree with Dokert (and give a shot out to Dave)...

I rec'd the 2 1/4" trackball kit from one of Dave's freebies and added an order of the 4" deluxe trackball kit for my MC. All I know is that after I replaced both of them it was night and day. The parts are top notch and of the highest quality. While I did not get the bearings for my Centipede, the feel and movement after the swap on both my Centipede and MC is simply amazing. Great work Dave!

Bob's are good, and I have used them many times. The ones from RAM Controls are better. The precision machine tolerances are tighter, which makes for a more accurate location of your crosshairs. IMO

I didn't say that RAM Controls hasn't wronged anyone or did anything wrong in the past. He obviously has wronged people in the past, and we all know it.

I did say... These are some damn nice parts and the quality could NOT be any better.

I also said... Check with the guy to make sure he has the parts that you want in stock and ready to ship out before you throw your hard earned cash at him.

If a person follows those simple tasks, you won't be disappointed with any of his products or services. I think that Dave Adams can understand where I am coming from, as a person on the outside looking in.

I must say The 4" trackball kit is ureal!! after it was installed im my machine for my birthday. It was like new. Played perfect and SOOOO Smooth!!

I will be installing one in My Missile Command Cockpit!!

RAM Controls has top of the line stuff!!

I will add that Daviea just sent me a chip I needed. Not only did he give me a "couldn't pass it up" deal, but he gave me a whole tube of chips and got them to me in one day. Thanks Dave for helping me get my Sea Wolf running!!!

I'll add my two cents here. I got some Star Wars controller parts from Dave to rebuild mine and he was very flexible about making up a custom kit for me. Also quickly added stuff to an order I made that I'd forgotten to include.

The parts were very high quality, and the USB adapter for the yoke worked first time out.
Unfortunately I've found that my pots are in worse shape than I feared, so I'll be getting some new ones from Dave pretty soon.

Just a note: After disassembling and then reassembling my controller, I've come to appreciate the TIME involved in building one of these. It took me about 2 hours to assemble mine. There was some fabrication involved, but not that much. I'm can't imagine how long it took for Dave and his helpers to build the first bunch of controllers!

Thanks again Dave.

Here's a pic of mine in process:

i have gotten some items from dave as well, and all of it has by far exceeded my expectations. 720 controller board, rebuild kit, Starwars Cockpit T-molding, Missile command trackball rebuild kit, etc. I gave Dave my spare Paperboy controller, that's what he's using to prototype the reproduction.

I voiced my opinion when Dave was struggeling. Since his honest efforts to improve his service were voiced by others i went ahead and made an order. I received my items in less than a week! I live in Norther British Columbia Canada and have never received anything that quickly from the USA.

Good Job Dave and awesome product! Here is a copy of the email i sent to Dave this morning:

Good Morning Dave,

Just wanted to drop a note to say thanks! I received the items today and the service was outstanding. Being in Canada it usually takes at least 10-12 days to receive items. I am very happy with your service as I received everything within 6 days, quickest shipment received from the US yet!

Thanks again,
Shayne...
