Ram control site down.

looks like they renewed again and the site is back up
I wonder what new tricks they have up their sleeve next.

I don't know but that's a pretty clear sign that they're planning something, isn't it?

Ready to meet the 'new owner' of RAM? Lather, rape, repeat.

Oh come on -- I'm sure they'll be legit in this next incarnation and probably willing to help make up for the theft in the past!

Even if it did their reputation is toxic so even if they did pay back every cent they owe there would always be zealots who probably never even had any skin in the game that would bitch and moan about them and vilify those who buy stuff from them (not that some of it isn't justified, but people get downright hostile beyond reason about this subject).

Jeez, why the hell did they have to scam all those people in the first place? It was great to be able to get the parts they did make before things turned sour. I guess maybe they tried to be legit, realized there was a slim profit margin and even smaller market for their product, and decided to just screw everybody over on a high dollar item and disappear? Stupid bastards. :(

I was kidding! :)

But yeah, they had some good stuff; they could have been a serious asset to the collecting community.

Yeah I know. :p

And they were an asset until the repro Star Wars yoke and then later the repro cockpit scandals. I was buying a lot of small Atari stick parts, lit pushbuttons, Nyogel, and other items that I found preferable to more expensive NOS items before that went down.

It seems ram control site is down and there network name is up for auction.
Bidding started at 69 with zero bids.

ram-controls.com expired on 06/21/2013 and is pending renewal or deletion.

Just to close the loop on this - for the last two years (2012 & 2013) they've let the domain go until it's about to be auctioned before renewing it. Don't be surprised (and don't get your hopes up) if it happens again next year in 2014. They also only ever renew for one year at a time.

I don't know why they always do this - deliberately playing some game (I don't see the benefit to them)? bad at paying bills on time? can't decide until the last minute on whether or not to keep it?

In case some aren't aware, it's possible to place bids with some services for existing domains. That way, if the domain ever becomes available, you have a shot at getting it, even if you aren't paying attention at the time. I've got a standing bid out for ram-controls.com, just in case.

And like clockwork, here we are in 2014 and the ram-controls.com name is once again pending deletion. As usual, I have a bid waiting in case they actually let it go, but I expect they'll pay up again at the last minute.
