Ok, on my Rampage board, I have a blown out ram chip. I believe its causing the lines through the monsters. Anyways, the manual calls it a 2018 2kx8 ram 45ns. Does anyone have any of these lying around, or know the best way to cross reference. I went to NTE'S website and cross referenced the part number, but it gave me 5 or 6 results that could be it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

try a 6116, or 2016, or 58725. I suspect its a mcm2018-45. Which crosses to those, among about 50 others.
Edit - Bob roberts lists one - his are slimline. you need to look at the board and see if you need a .3 or .6" wide chip. If its .6" wide, any of the above will work.

I just bought in a lot of Toshiba TMM2016P rams because they are so versatile
& I will list a handful of common xref'd part numbers here.

Unless your are .3, then you need:
2015/16/18 Ram Slimline w socket$3.00
This shows the sizes:

Well, I can't get numbers off the chip because the whole top of the chip is missing. I looked it up in the manual, and all it says is 2018. Thanks for the info, ill run with it. I can get pretty much any chip from a local place, but he always wants a nte part number.

CXK-5814, CY7C-128, 6116 (ONLY if it's high speed), 2018, etc...

It's an industry standard pinout 2k x 8 bit chip. The trick is to get the right speed.

If you can't find any, I have 25, and 35ns ones.

For most games and computers you can go faster on cycle time... just not slower.

2018 is high speed cache RAM... 6116/2016/58725 are all too slow...

IIRC, most 2018s were in .3" dip packages, and the ones you listed are in .6" packages... there's a cypress cross that's not too hard to find, but I can't remember the exact part number... I know cy7c185 is 8kx8, so it's not that :)

It's listed in my post, Mark... CY7C128 is the 2k x 8. Commonly used on Neo Geo boards for sprite RAM.

IDT makes some .3" 25, 35, and 45ns versions of the 6116 chip. I have a few tubes of the 25/35ns ones.
