Working 100%, rare original version (not the easier remake) Raiden II PCB for sale. Got this to use for a project cab but never found a suitable one and now my priorities have shifted. Can include a pretty rough marquee for no extra if requested. Asking 100 + exact shipping. Thanks!

... rare ... version (not the easier remake) ...

In general, from what I'm told, the JAPAN RAIDEN boards are harder than the US boards because when you die--the game re-starts you at the beginning of the level. In contrast, when you die on a US board, the game re-spawns you at the last checkpoint you passed in the level. Thus, the US boards are much easier to pass.

I'm also told the Raiden II boards that can still save the High Scores are the rare ones, as many OPs and owners let the battery suicide and now these boards can't save the Hi Scores. :(

In any event, Best Of Luck With The Sale. It's a fun game. Classic SEIBU.

Really?? That's pretty bizarre, a while back all I could find to buy were the remakes and I was told they were easier. Thanks for the info. Well, either way this is an awesome game for someone with the right cab :D

You know you want to... the Hypnotoad commands you... do it... for great justice...

Yeah, R2 is definatly a classis shmup. It goes great in both Wood and Candy cabs. And it seems to be one of those games that almost everyone can get into. Heh, even I have a board.

Hey, yeajh, if you ever need to check the board for region just turn it on and look at the Title screen. At the bottom you will see some LICENSE or USE info. The county info in that line is the boards region.

US Region: US LICENSE FABTEK. http://www.gamesdbase.com/Media/SYSTEM/Arcade/Title/big/Raiden_II_-_1993_-_Seibu_Kaihatsu.jpg
JP Region: USE IN JAPAN ONLY http://s.uvlist.net/l/y2009/07/61240.jpg
ASIA Region: METROTAINMENT LICENSE
World Region: Seibu Kaihatsu

And, IIRC, SEIBU also did some EURO boards too--for Germany or Italy, I think.

Again, Best Of Luck With The Sale. It's A Great Game.

Newer boards lack the Yamaha sound chip and have bad quality sound , also the music loops just a small part of the original soundtrack and they lack some sound effects .
Batteries are usually dead so saves wont work and it's best to remove that battery before it starts to leak , the moment the battery is disconnected the save system immediately dies so it's bound to happen sooner or later , afaik replacing it with the board powered on wont help you .

Man...talk about bad timing. This board was on my short list, but I just spent my moolah on a Q*bert. Pewp. :(
