Board was working great.... no signs of issues. Then, as I was attempting to test it in two different JAMMA cabs, the game no longer fires up. All I get is a black screen. There are two leds on the board. I recall both being lit but am unsure if they are both to remain powered.

This board is newer than I'm used to..... any suggestions on where to start? I have a feeling it will be something simple.

"you just toasted your board by plugging it into a standard jamma cab

even tho the board looks like a standard jamma connector it is not plugging the board into a standard jamma setup will fry the cpu on the board
if klov is up you can look there and it will explain in more depth"

Damn that sucks!

Strange....because I've tested it before in both my Trog, SFIICE cab, and Robocop cab. No problems at all.

Damn...that f'n sucks. Makes me hate the game even more. Time to scavenge the board for good chips I guess.

Even though this game is listed as "JAMMA", damage will occur to the computer if a standard JAMMA harness is connected to it. In the dedicated cabinet (this was the only form this game was sold) there are stickers warning that the CPU is not JAMMA compatible.

Thats sucks :(

assuming you did not damage the board I would check your voltages. Some jamma boards need a little extra on the 5v to boot up. Or of course if the voltages are off the board may also not boot.

anyone got a schematic of the board id like to know why it is that way i wish klov would give a little more info on why. like if its voltages ,or wrong wire to wron part

i learnd this the hard way myself
had a dedicated cab missing harness monitor and cp so i orderd a new jamma harness wired it up installed a new cp and monitor turned her on worked ok for a few hours then poof no more workie after doing research and thinking shit what did i do
i found that info on the klov page

it ended up as my first horrible attmpt at building a mame machine (man what was i thinking using that fugly xarcade )

Strange how its fried.... no smoke was let out, can't see any physical signs of burn. I guess the processor can just die internally. Sad, because the board is so clean and well....I was selling it too goddddammmnit!

you may look at the schematics (if you can find them)
and try to wire yp a test harnees with the proper inputs you may be lucky and its just voltages that are keeping you from booting up

(i wasnt that lucky in my case)
