I have a Bally "Radical" I'm working on this weekend and I have a couple of game play questions.

At what point in the game is the right ramp ball diverter supposed to kick in? (the one thats does the "tail spin") Some times this seems to work but I can play several games and it never kicks in.

When is the big ball diverter (yellow one in the middle of the ramps) supposed to kick in? I have yet to have this activate in a game. When I run all of the coil and switch tests it passes and the diverter works, just cant get it to activate during a game.

Thanks

the tail spin diverter seems to kick in at random, usually on your second and/or third ball shot from the plunger.

the big diverter in the middle usually goes down when you have activated the snake pit lock and then hit one of the ramps, because the diverter will send your ball to the lock.

This is such a weird table. It feels very rushed/incomplete. I was working on mine today and noticing a lot of little things. Like the rubber chart in the instruction manual has got to be all wrong. It doesn't list/identify half the posts, and tells you to use regular white rubbers on some of the posts where you obviously shouldn't.

Also the opening skill shot is kind of a mystery - I've set my table so that you can basically hit it from the plunger and it goes directly up the main ramp every time, but I've seen youtube vids where the ball comes out of the shooter lane at a lower angle, hitting the circle switch and dropping down. This is what mine did when I had a yellow post rubber on the top of the outlane, but this ball activity can't be what was intended, as it's very jarring, has no flow, and is not fun. So removing the post rubber entirely from the top of the outlane exit allows the ball to make the ramp almost every time.

There are a lot of little things like that, and like the top kicker being taken out, that makes little sense and hinders gameplay.

I agree, now that I've finished shopping it out I can see a lot of issues in design that look like they were never addressed. The rubber kit I got for it was short all but two of the yellow post rubbers, luckily there was an incomplete kit in the bottom that had all of them. The shooter lane is a big one, I have mine set to hit the ramp 99% of the time but every now and then it doesn't, if your not paying attention it'll drain the ball almost instantly. Game play definitely doesn't make much sense and the multi-ball doesn't seem to work correctly all the time. Also, it seems way to hard to hit the "Snake Run" except by pure luck. It definitely has some issues but it's still a fun game to play and it looks great too.
