I know that a LOT of people are AWARE of this game, but many of you have not had a chance to experience it. This game was long rumored to be in the works for Xbox 360 as a "Live" download, but it took them a LOT longer to finish/release it than had been expected. The original Sega Saturn version of this game starts at around $160 and goes (WAY) up from there, depending on condition, with unopened examples commanding well over $300. ...And now you can own it on your 360 for only fifteen bucks worth of "live" points (1200).

IGN published a review of it, and gave it an "Incredible" score of 9/10. If you are familiar with how (poorly) shooters will typically score in these reviews, this should give you a good indication of why this release is somewhat of a "big deal". You can check out the video review here:

Oh, and by the way. I enjoyed this game so much on the STV arcade platform that I actually built a custom arcade cabinet specifically for this game last winter. It is definitely worth looking into...

do you like this or Ikaruga more for XBLA?

I haven't had a chance to download it yet, but since it is a upgraded port of the original Saturn and arcade game, I would have to say that I am certain that I will prefer it over Ikaruga. I don't think that the "re-made" graphics will look as good as Ikaruga's, but you are talking about an "older" game, and they are trying to retain they graphical "style" of the original game. I suppose that a fair comparison is that the "updated" graphics for the older Cave ports, although they look better than the original games, do not rival the graphics of Akai Katana Shin, which is the most recently ported Cave shooter...
