So big thanks to Ataritoobin for selling me his Radar Scope marquee and bezel they arrived beautifully, in stated condition and packed SUPER well - thank you man! Ever since I saw a few restores including a cockpit, I've fallen in love with the art, the story behind the game, and the game itself. (only through emulation though)
So anyways, I'm working on restoring a DK cab that has DKjr in it, and this stuff will probably end up going into - I am on the lookout for the PCB and control panel. Might even need to get a new power supply for the older board? It might just end up being Donkey Kong with radarscope art - who knows. I have the marquee sitting in my only operable Nintendo cab at the moment - I REALLY enjoy the this artwork and I think it's going to look great in my red cab project when it's finished.
This game was a commercial failure, which surprises me a little - I find this game a lot of fun and it's definitely a step above the galagas and space invaders in some ways. It's history is pretty interesting too, one of Miyamoto's first games and Gunpei Yokoi (Mr. Game Boy) supervised the conversion game Miyamoto made (Donkey Kong) to replace the failed Radar Scope. Sorry about the Nintendo 101 most of you probably already know this. LOL
We'll see if I can find the rest of the parts for a reasonable price!
