I just picked a State/City at random. I didn't realize Naples was so politically fueled. Is there an innocent, riot free, happy town that I can pick to make the joke work?

Just thinking about moving my own machines makes me feel tired. And these things are such a huge hassle to store and resell. Random thieves don't just pull up with a truck to wheel that much heavy shit out.

I'm not making allegations or playing arm chair Columbo. I just think the hassle of the entire operation is fascinating. Gawd. If I was a thief I'd want to steal almost anything but a load of heavy ass arcade games.

I hope this ends well.

It can be done. you can take your time if the person knows the owner is not going to be returning for a while or who would even question what is going on unless they knew the owners personally. Possibly looks like an inside job who knew there were no cameras or alarm system.

The changing of the locks tells me it could have been a landlord issue, or someone who just wanted to put forth an arrogant message that this was a professional hit.

What I don't get is they took 17 heavy wood boxes, but left those easy to pickup parts boxes along the wall.

I'm with everyone else else and something doesn't add up. Maybe he was hit hard during the pandemic and now looking for go fund me money to finish the arcade and open? Wasn't going to do well with only 17 games in that big space anyways.

So apparently the owners are going to be on Rcade Radio tomorrow night. Folks can show up and ask whatever questions they want.

If it's not go fund me scam it's definitely a PR stunt.

Who wants to bet me 100 bucks they push their go fund me campaign at least twice on the show?

Let's be clear, they themselves didn't start the GoFundMe. There were only that many games moved in, as they were in process of setting up still. He has others at home/different location.

I've setup and broken down many arcades over the years. This is a lot of work. I've also known some skill game operators and I can totally see them clearing the place out. A commercial building and a truck with a ramp or lift gate you could have those machines out quick.

It does when the people are relying on police and Seattle is a perfect example of a society that has no police.

Just a reminder.

It turns into a fucking shithole.

If you don't give a shit about politics then close your ears to it.

What does having "no police" have to do with this situation where there ARE police? Wait. Don't answer. Just stop posting political shit in the general forum and lets move on.

Correct. I've been in the coin-op biz for 37 years now. I could have one game outof that location and on my truck in less than 1 minute. Securing add another minute if everything is ready before game goes on.

17 games would take 2-4 people that know what they are doing 10 minutes to clear out.

Wait a second ... 8 games for sale in from where? Georgia? Where is Oldworldman from? Georgia? Something doesn't add up here! I don't want to recklessly jump to any conclusions but since everyone else is I guess we might as well call this one a wrap. Case closed! Good work KLOV police. And he would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for you snooping kids.

You keep saying that, but the go fund me clearly says it was started by two guys, one of the guys is the owner.

I'm not alleging anything, but what you're saying just isn't true.

"Brandon Murphree and Dustan Myers are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Dustan Myers."

Ok, I've not clicked through to the GoFundMe, I do only recall seeing a third party post on one of the FB feeds saying they were going to start one on behalf of Dustin. Guess we'll see how this plays out, I've known him well before any of this started and I truly believe he's been a victim to the theft.

Do you idiots who want to defund the police still want to do so?

Well not to derail from the topic but to answer your question: defunding the police is not the same as disbanding the police. The argument (from what I've read) is to divert some funding to police departments (ie: funds for new weaponry, MRAPs, gear, tech., etc.) and put that money into community organizations/projects which support a lot of issues police are required to address. 911 gets a call from someone suicidal or acting irrational, instead of sending the new kid from the academy they send clinical personnel with experience in dealing with those situations.

Thus relieving some of burden that has unfortunately fallen on the shoulders of the police in light of decades of decimation social infrastructure. Fucking A, the obscene lack of proper mental health care is fucking criminal.

Yeah, I doubt those machines will be resold as whole.

A fellow collector here in Alaska had a theft a few years ago from a place he had set his games up to vend (by none other than our friend Nateyboy and his cohort). An interesting tidbit for us all to consider:

Proving ownership was problematic for him because he had no documentation of purchase etc.. He also couldn't produce SN for his machines.

What we learned collectively is two key things for us all I think to consider: take pics of your games, in particular, document the SN where possible. I would also personally recommend insuring them separately (I have personally done this through my State Farm agent).

I say this because even though our local collector knew who took the games, and found them being resold two years later, because he had poor or no documentation the police were not empowered to act.
