Picked up a Racin Force, and the guy said it played fine, but the picture went blurry and faded to black. He knew nothing about it, nor do I. There is a wire coming out of the neck board that is cut. Can't track down the other end yet. I let everything warm up, and flipped the power switch, and it started to spark at the chassis. Shut it down right away. Disconnected power to the monitor and flipped the switch, there was a faint buzz coming from the pcb, that would go away if I moved the wire harnes slightly. The monitor is a wg 25k7191. Voltage out of the isolation transformer is at 129. The whole thing looks complete and original, not all hacked up. Just looking for the right direction to go. Thanks.

Several things likely going on. The blurry, then fade to black thing was probably the black wire, that appears to be the focus wire going to the neckboard.

The sparking is probably that the flyback has cracks in it, those white knob ones have all started to fail now.

To fix it, you'll need a capkit, a new flyback, possibly a new HOT, and a new fuse. Or, you can send it out to someone and have them work it over for you.

The black, cut wire seems to be a ground. there are two of them soldered together on the neck board. The other uncut one is screwed to the monitor chassis.

the black wire that goes into the neck socket ( the big wite thing on the neck board ) is your focus wire.

the other two are grounds and must be hooked up for the chassis to work and not smoke parts on the chassis.

leave the one that goes to the neck to the chassis connected and the other is your DAG wire that goes to the spring and wire that goes around the back of the tube.

as suggested do a full cap kit and replace the fly back.

if you do not wish to do the work and need a hand i can repair it for you.

send me a PM.

Peace
