Race Drivin' "strain gauge"

thats what makes the brakes work.

on most games its just a switch or pot.

on race drivin, they wanted a more realistic driving experience.. to they used a strain gauge instead. Youll notice when you play the games the brakes do have a pretty good "real" feel to them.. its amazing what they did wuth 80s/early 90s technology on that game.

Yeah I knew it made the brakes work, I was wondering what it actually was; I thought they were using a generic term to identify it, but that it was really something else.

Found out it really is a strain gauge, and changes resistance when stretched or compressed. Very cool, and explains why they say in the manual that you should replace the entire assembly if the strain gauge becomes detached.

Sounds like it's just epoxied on, though. Either way, neat.
