Race Drivin stand up compact

Oh that's cool! Didn't even notice that. Unfortunately not Mike. Mine has seen some better days and finally seeing some love now that it's in my garage.
Thanks.

My game was in pretty solid, good shape when I bought it, minus the hack job on the control panel. It also had some issues with the steering wheel and feedback unit. When I bought the replacement control panel it included all that too. Problem solved!

Good luck with yours. There were not, as I recall, a whole lot of these made to begin with. Plus many have been parted out mainly because the cabinets were not all that durable. This was enhanced for the worse if they weren't cared for well. Mine spent the better part of its existence, after a brief arcade tour at first, in the hands of the collector I bought it from … so I was told.

Best , Mike

Not reading through 6 pages but the monitor comes out fairly easy from the front if you haven't already figured it out. Pull the marquee, glass, some bars behind the marquee then the monitor comes out. I would pull the monitor before moving it.

Thanks but I figured the monitor out pretty quickly. As a matter of fact, the entire component removal was simple. I would say the most difficult part, was to remove the pedals, since they are slanted down, making access to thr bolts at the bottom, nearly impossible, especially since they were caked in rust. That was not fun.

I happen to think the compact is pretty darn cool. A good way to experience the game, if you couldn't afford the cockpit back in the day. With my cockpit restoration in the plans for next year, I am going to keep both.

Hey guys. Quick question pertaining to the monitor. The chassis was off my tube and I'm trying to determine if the yoke wiring is placed in the same way as a typical game or does the image need to be inverted so it reflects off the screen properly? I would like to get this right the first time, so I'm not having to remove the monitor multiple times.

Depends if the monitor was ever replaced. Is the yoke connector intact or split? i believe you could access the the yoke wires thru the top door.

the smart thing would be to test it outside the cab. Plug it in to another cab. Pic should be correct looking into a mirror. You should be able to free the video cable and power cable and plug in the monitor on the ground.

The monitor seems original from what I can tell, Wells Gardner K7000. The yoke Connector is intact, however, I did notice the wires for the red and blue had been cut and spliced at some point and were loose, which makes me believe rather than cut the yoke Connector, someone took the butcher way to invert the image, but this is only speculation on my part.

Your advice of testing on the ground against a mirror is a good idea prior to putting it inside the cab.
