When i try to enter the selection number the number wont input on the selector.cds are 4 diget numbers starting 5001.Its not the number 5 because it works fine in the 45 mode.Like the cd player is not there ,is their a reset code for the cd player.Player works fine by its self. Thanks Ed

Same with mine but itll play tracks 1 and 9+. Think I needs a new eprom.

Its all plugged in and youve initialized it? I think its 777 or somthing in service mode.
Theres a data cable a sound cable and the power.

ok got manuel, looking at error code 001 and with book following the steps it still will not reset to factory settings.so it says to replace board.looks like the battery has been replaced on the board so would the eprom loose it memory their for not go back to factory settings?do i just need a new eprom? Thanks Ed

If I remember right, the cd's have to be initialized. The manual will tell you how in the program guide. You can't just put a new cd in, you must initialize it.

Reset Factory Settings (Initialize CD's)

To reset factory settings, Turn off jukebox power, Press and hold MEMOREC RESET and MEMOREC ADVANCE switches, Turn on jukebox power.

You should see Error 0 (means default settings loaded).

To reset errors, set switch to Service Mode and enter 699.

To initialize CD's, set switch to Service Mode and enter 777, four dashes will appear on the Central Control Computer display. CD activity should begin within a few seconds. Each disc is loaded and about 2 seconds of each track is played. The dashes will disappear after CD's are initialized (or after 30 seconds if no CD changer activity).

If your CD changer fails to initialize (won't allow the first digit number 5) or doesn't play songs correctly, you may have the wrong CCC program version. Different versions were produced for the Pioneer 6-disc changers, and later on, the Sony 10-disc changer. Some EPROM program versions didn't support any CD changer.

Thanks very much Ed,got it to reset.still cant get the cds to initialize. The rom is r-94 ver 1.1 . Thanks Ed

You may want to look for cold solder/cracked solder joints on the little board pins on the back of the cd player and all the pins on the cpu board.

ekeeb,

That's the latest version EPROM (Part # 70038213)
Supports 6-disc Pioneer or 10-disc Sony

What model CD changer ?
Did you see any CD activity ?
Does the CD changer turn-on after power-up ?
Does the CD changer work manually using the buttons ?

Its a pioneer pd-m400.No activity.Powers on as soon as you hit the switch on the back but also starts playing the first cd on power up no sound of course. All the changer buttons work. Thanks Ed

Okay, let's see if the CD changer is getting the STOP command ...

Power-up the jukebox (the CD changer should power-on and start playing)

While the CD is playing, select service mode and press 777

Does the changer stop playing ?

If not ...

The changer may not be getting the command signal.
Check the Central Control Computer wire connections at P5/DATA

10) Mute signal from CD changer to CCC
9) Remote signal from CCC to CD changer
8) key (no pin)
7) +5V power
6) Ground

The control interface board isolates (using opto ICs) the Remote and Mute signals.
If the wire colors are consistent (soldered to the CD changer PCB), I think they are as follows:

GRN Control
WHT Reset
BLU Mute
BLK Ground
RED +5V

oh yea she works

Ok the connector was pluged into the video side pin 1-5 now pluged in the correct way and its fixed.Thank you very much Ed from Ed

Hello, I wish mine was as easy as just the connection wrong. I can't get mine to initialize. After the 777 command the cd player will start play/pause for about 20 seconds and then just stop as if I press stop on it and the display on the jukebox remains 777.
