OK, I think I found the culprit in my cap kit folley. The reisistor at R91 is burnt to a crisp...it's right next to the cap I had initially put in backwards. Makes sense, as the screen shrunk as I smelled the burning..and here we go, burnt resistor.

If this thing was labeled, it burnt off....what resistor do I need to replace R91 on a WG7000? Thanks!

Caps go BOOOOM when put in backwards... So if it didn't go, get a new one anyway. This one is probably fried.

I already got a new cap and put it in correctly. Hopefully now it's just this fried resistor I need to replace. No one around town has one though..wah!!! :(

You could get 4 - 5k ohm 1/2 watt resistors and run them in parallel... that'd be 1.25k ohm 2 watt.

I'm new at this and already messed up once...I'm just gonna get the right resistor and hope that's all I had messed up. :)

LOL! Wow, I guess I wasn't paying attention :p . Heh, 1.2 ohms, just solder a dirty piece of wire in, that's hardly any resistance ;) .

No, don't. A resistor like that is for current limiting. If it is replaced by a 0 Ohm link, then it'll start melting stuff.

There is a certain risk involved when joking in a serious tech forum, around people that just don't know. You wouldn't want to be responsible for his/her death or injury?

Yes, it is a bit extremely put, but it's also very true.

LOL, not very dirty... just take a clean multimeter, make sure you zero it first and then measure, but make sure you use some old crappy solder so it doesn't make good contact through the dirt.

Oh... and if you shove food up your butt, you crap out of your mouth :D . <------ JOKING! I WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DEATH IF YOU TRY THIS!!!
