I have a nintendo audio amp that doesn't work even after a rebuilding. I tracked an issue down to R383, it looks like that resistor is swollen. It reads open both ways on the meter, so it appears to be bad. My question is - what is the proper replacement value on it? It doesn't have the colored bands like the others, it is gray and has C390 stamped on it.

What is the proper replacement value for the resistor at R383 on the audio board?

Thanks,
Mike

There are schematics for these kind of questions....

Thanks guys. The schematic I did have I could not see very well what it was. The one that was posted here was much better. Not that I could have read it anyways, wasn't sure what NPJ was.

The letter codes are explained on the schematics (on top) with the tables showing what is what. Hope this'll fix your problem !

I swapped that resistor out from another audio board, and it blew again. There is something else causing it to blow, so replacing it isn't the complete answer. I will go get a couple of them to have on hand. Thanks!

I'll check those transistors. They are new from the Bob Roberts rebuild kit, but I'll check to make sure they aren't bad. Thanks, Ken. The speaker is fine, I put a non-rebuilt audio amp in there and it worked fine.

There are several transistors and one diode on the audio amplifier board. Any one of those could be shorted/bad. I don't remember if the transistors needed an insulating sheet of mica behind them or not.

Also, double check the soldering and installation of the new electrolytic capacitors. Maybe you got a solder splash short or a capacitor lead touching something it shouldn't.

I just don't understand things enough to find certain items on Mouser. Could somebody provide me with a link to replacements for R383 39 ohms metal film 5% 1/2 Watt Fusable Resistor (I don't know what to look under for Fusable Resistors) and TR372? Please?
