Well, as always I look around in my game room and think of something different to do. While looking at my TouchMaster I first thought it almost looks like a mailbox, then I remembered the R2D2 mailbox. So I did the measurements, loaded up photoshop and 2 hours later I am half way done with the design. I just used the two pics from google and have been drawing it all up in photoshop. Gonna take a break now and finish the design tomorrow. Then Sunday I will print it and install it on Monday. I also need to get white T-molding and remove the heavy touchscreen and get my flat panel ELO touchscreen in there and working.
Let me know what you all think? This is just something for fun for my game room. I am also going to make a custom topper for this that lights up.

Looks amazing so far! Though, I haven't seen a project of yours that I didn't love.

Its the Bazoobs! :)

looks good I have one just like that, although you are gonna struggle with the ELO TS thou, from what Ive been told its a no go, I also have anright Force with bad touchscreen and I cant just swap out to that, as no drivers and other stuff :(

shoot me a PM on price of the kit, and cant wait to see pics !!!!

Im gonna order a Gonbes cga to vga converter and then figure out the touchscreen part after I get that wired in. I noticed is a serial connection out and I have a serial connection on my ELO so I am hoping that somehow I can get the drivers working. Otherwise I guess Ill have to find a new touchscreen unless there is a way just to get a new tube and remove the touchscreen part off and apply it to the new tube. Or I could just put one of my many older computers I have laying around and do this to it.

jsut remove the touchscreen overlay and use another monitor, Ive been down this road many times, and not a single other touchscreen will work, even spoken to the Merit Guru (Dave) about this, they are very picky!

You know what size it is so I can look for a new tube? Dang that sucks about the lcd ts.. ohwell..

its just a regular 19" VGA monitor in those :) Ive got a load of those sitting down the shed, not that it helps you thou

just find an old VGA off Craigslist and throw the touchscreen part on it ? ?

whats up with the one thats in there now?

When I bought it somehow while it was bouncing around on the trailer combined with really cold weather cracked the tube. At least thats what I think happened. I plug it in the tube glows brighter than it should (i think), it sounds like electricity running crazy in the neck and after 10 seconds it starts to smoke... kinda weird... monitor worked perfect at the auction.

Getting farther in the design. Hoping to get this printed soon and the dam touchscreen fixed. Otherwise R2D2 is going to turn into my touchscreen gameroom jukebox...

Well I am half way done. I took out the 19" shitty monitor and decided just to bypass the entire touchmaster comletely. I custom fitted a 23" Dell Touchscreen PC. I am using software called Simpletouch FE and it will have all the touchmaster games as well as over 300 quiz games and 2TB of music. The sound system will be installed in the next few days, its a decent large logitech setup with a sub. I still have the top half of the graphics to finish, white t-molding is on its way, and I have a custom plexi bezel/door being made that will be done next week. The custom bezel will also have graphics to match as well as the wallpaper on the screen to match. The Simpletouch softare makes R2D2 noises when you select games/quiz or when you change menu pages. I will post more as I go, just thought I would share my fun little project. I kept all the touchmaster stuff in it just in case down the road I want to bring it back to that, but I know that will never happen.

Got good news and bad news... Good news is I got the top side graphics done, white t-molding came in today as well as my usb volume control knob that lights up blue.

The bad news... the Dell is a POS! It has been returned to Dell once already to be fixed... lcd inverter board went out. So its been working great until last week. The lcd inverter board starting going out again, screen doing crazy things. So I ordered a new one, came in today.. installed it and now the entire backlit panel isn't working. I tried the old inverter and the backlit panel still doesn't work. I can hear Windows loading, I can see windows faintly... but no backlight. So now I might just part the Dell out and buy a new one.
