Start off by cleaning all of the adjustment pots on the chassis and then adjust them to get a good picture. I use an electronics cleaning spray from radioshack (I'm sure there are other sources). Spray some cleaner under the knob of the pot and give it a few full turns in each direction.
I had the same issue on a Sanyo 20ez after I did a cap kit. I usually clean the pots when I do cap kits, but I didn't this time because they looked clean. Turned out it was a dirty H hold pot. I always clean the pots now![]()
OK. Actually the chassis is probably the cleanest I've seen other than a brand new one. It must have been just refurbished or something as it's clean as a whistle. I will pick some cleaner up tomorrow and give it a shot anyway. Still though, should the flyback be sounding this way?
Its difficult to give advice on the flyback sound without hearing it and seeing the monitor. I would say if the flyback is working well (holding focus and holding brightness) and not arcing/sparking, leave it alone.
From your pictures it looks like you need to turn down the screen control on the flyback. Your picture is so bright that you can see the retrace lines (horizontal slanted lines).
Have you recapped it yet?
