Okay. So I've had this damn Tempest for ages, and I decided today was the day I would get it working 100%. I had recapped the monitor & replaced the chassis transistors previously, but it still wasn't working. Pulled the deflection board and went through it, found Q100 was bad, replaced it & Q101 (I had to pull it to test anyway), tested the rest of the LV stuff, fired it up and BOOM I have a picture on this thing for the first time.
All excited to play, I go to mount it back up in the cab… And manage to drop one of the nuts as I'm screwing it on. Does it fall to the floor or in the cab? Nope… It bounces on the top of the tube and slides down between the tube and the metal shielding around the back. I pulled it back out and shook it around to see if I could jostle it out, but no luck.
Soooo… Is it safe to power up with that thing in there? How the crap do I get it out?
