So, im PROBABLY gettin a project Joust cab in a couple weeks, and im gonna restore it mostly original. I'm gonna make the CP in a multi williams so i can put a jrok board in it. ANYhoo the side art will hafta be repainted. I've heard good things about these

I'm just wondering how exactly does it work? I saw the color codes on the site, just curious how the actual stencil works. Anyone here use these?

Thanks

Jason

You do the stencils in layers. You'll do the base coat (background color) then you just build up from there. You align the stencils one at a time. For joust there will be a red, a yellow, and a white stencil. Since they don't overlap the order of the color isn't important.

Start with whichever color you want to start with (AFTER you do the base color). Put the stencil on, paint it. Then peel it off, put the next one on, paint it, then the last one, and... paint it. You just have to make sure you get them lined up properly.

I'll hopefully be going though this myself with my Robotron here shortly. I'm hopeing to do the European color scheme, but I'm not sure if Prok still has those or not...

Anywho, what are you planning on doing with the original Joust boards?

The cab im getting doesnt have a board in it. I thought real hard about making it a dedicated joust, but im a big williams fan, and dont have the money for a bunch of cabs so a multi is the way to go for me atm.. Plus, giving it a true joust makeover will make it easier to make it a dedicated cab down the road, besides the fact that im gonna wire it jamma style. We'll talk about it more when i stop by the arcade later(hopefully) It may be closer to 3 before I get there. If I cant make it today, do you have plans on being there saturday? I'm Jason btw :)

I'm Scucci. lol

I don't know about Saturday... I know I'll be there Sunday, that's given because I work on Sundays. If I don't get everything done tomorrow, then I'll probably have to be there Saturday to get everything done before I get counter duty on Sun.

Don't worry about JAMMA, my Robotron cabinet was converted to JAMMA before I got it. I just made an adapter from Bob Robert's kit and she works fine. I was just making sure you weren't going to be scrapping any Williams boards.

On the left hand side of the main page, look for the 'support' box and download the stencil guide, that should answer most of your questions :)

Hey Prok, are the stencis reusable if you are careful when applying/removing them. I have a pair (possibly 3) Jousts that need sideart and the budget might allow 1 set of stencils, but definitely won't support 2 (or 3) sets.

Thanks.
