I am just wondering what I should do with this. Got a lead on an Empire Strikes Back that is currently not working but complete. The cab has some rough spots, but I was wondering if this is a 6100 or an AMP I am seeing from these distant side ways pics? I don't need any more projects, but if this IS an AMP I may reconsider:

He's asking $500.

I've spoken to this seller, and confirmed that it's a 6100 (pics tell you anyway). He says he's moving and the cab won't fit into the new house he's going to.

A while back the sound cut out, and then the cab wouldn't power on at all. That's the current state it's in. It's dead.

I've made an appointment to go pick it up tomorrow morning at 10am. We'll see if that actually happens or not. Lots of time between now and then.

MN guys, please give me until 10am tomorrow morning before you start swooping in like vultures...

$500 for a non-working SW upright it just about right at the limit... and cab condition would certainly be a huge part of my decision if it were me.

Who am I kidding... get it.

:D

If you do end up getting it and it is an Atari ESB board in there, i would be interested in it if you end up selling it. Thanks

Nope, there is not. He listed it as an Empire, but then described the game play to me:

"You're flying your X-wing in a trench to blow up the Death Star, hope that helps."

Missing the old girl yet? :) I still can't thank you enough for making my childhood dream come true. Out of all the road trips I've taken, that was my favorite one to date. Of course, I did put the new ESB kit in it recently also.

And.....it's mine :)

It's in pretty rough shape (especially the bottom).

It'll likely need a new bottom plate fitted to the cab. All 4 leg levelers were ripped out at some point, and there are just holes. The rear bottom plate is also separating from the back too, but that's a common issue I've seen with Atari cabs in the past.

A little bit of TLC with the clamps and wood glue should get this cab sturdy again. I'll probably just throw a Bob Roberts leg leveler kit on there if I don't replace the bottom. We'll see.

Owner told me it was HUO machine, but you know how THAT story goes.

It's got a Wells Gardner 6100 in it, and the label on it says it's from a Major Havok. All of the original mounting strips are still there from the Amp High Voltage pcb and deflection pcb's so this game had an Amp in it at one point, but not any more.

Owner told me that the sound quit on it first, then one day it wouldn't turn on any more. Probably needs an AR-II rebuild.

I'll start my own thread in a few days when I get a chance to get to this one. In the mean time I have a 60-in-1 to finish up for Bongoben.

Replacing those blind nuts is easy enough, Atari originally used heavy staples to retain them, which often ripped out.

I like to use a pair of round head #8 or #10 screws, about 3/4" long, mounted on opposite sides of the blind nut, so their heads overlap the edge of the blind nut. You'll need to use a #3 drive bit for these larger screws, but you'll have no more worries about blind nuts & levelers falling out when you move your game.

On some cabs where the holes aren't too bad, I've put t-nuts and held them in place with those big staples you use to mount Romex wire. Seems like I've had leg leveler issues mostly with atari cabs.

Unfortunately, that's not going to work in this case. The blind nuts AND staples have been completely pulled out in 2 holes. The other two are present, but in really rough shape.

I'll probably replace the bottom of this cab.
