the video harness in my project cab is missing. I know my 5 connections on the jamma end, but what order do they go on the monitor end?

also, is this the harness that i'm looking for? or does anyone have a link for what i need?

Depends on what monitor you actually have and the PCB being used. Some games require postive sync while others require negative sync. Some boards you simply tie the both sync wires together. Need more info to get you an answer.

However that harness should work fine with any standard monitor chassis - it'd simply be a matter of properly hooking up your sync wires. No big deal
If your monitor had an aftermarket chassis like Wei-ya then the video header could be an issue. You really need to post a picture of the monitor chassis or the actual model #.

IIRC the JAMMA standard calls for composite negative sync. But yes, what every monitor requires is different.

its a 25", originally an nba jam cabinet. i'd have to go home to check which manufacturer.

"Originally an NBA" - monitors get replaced so the style of cabinet doesn't apply unfortunately

Be careful - some games are capable of selecting res by dipswitch what res you want to run. Some games require standard res while other require medium res. You should also state exactly what game you plan on using.

Also, some 25" monitors like Nanao's use a completely different video connection than Wells-Gardner's. My advice is to identify the chassis model first, then we can answer your question...

well, i can't find any clues as to the brand of monitor, but i found a correct harness in my bucket o parts. it's a 10-pin connector, all in a row.

The physical connector on the monitor's board doesn't matter too much. Some monitors have a single long connector, others have two shorter ones. Two shorter connectors (one for video, one for sync) is pretty universal on game harnesses. They just plug into the proper points on the long connector, next to each other.

But, again, you haven't told us what monitor is in your game, so we can't tell you the pinout of that connector :)
