Iron is hot and half parts already in place so have a quick question about flyback replacement.
I did a quick search for the answer but didn't find one in 15 minutes so need to continue soldering before my iron burns the tip down.....
When replacing the flybacks do I splice in the two wires shown in the pic or is there another method to connect the new to the old? Both are going from flyback to neck board.
Excuse the cheap paper arrows as I was in a hurry.

splice it any way you want wire nut, electrical tape, solder, heat shrink, butt connector, or just remove the pin and solder it to the neck board.

i like to be able to remove it easy for any future repairs so i just solder it togather and tape it.

For the wire on the right, I usually solder the wire directly to the neck board (remove connector and desolder the pin).

The wire in the neck socket is removable. Lift that little door on the left and remove the old wire, push new wire in, and replace door.

the wire on the left is the focus wire. THeres a piece of plastic you either take off to desolder, or its hinged and after unhinging the wire pulls out. THe other wire, i form a tight loop with the new wire then solder it to the pin. Not corect, but works fine.
