My Space Duel had some extra lines projecting from the center of the screen. A quick read in the manual told me that this can be a result of the brightness turned up too high:

Only one problem, I don't have a key for the lock on the back. Time to break out the drill ;-) The inside tongs that are supposed to hold on to the wood spun loose before I got very far into the pins.

A quick trip to Lowes and < $5 later.

A lock with keys!

I only had to turn the brightness a tiny fraction down to lose all the lines.

I hope CPO goes this easily ;-)

Very nice! Sometimes it is the simplest of things that make the biggest difference. I love it when all a monitor needs a couple of adjustments.

Boy I love that image. Little projects with results as the appointed are very, very cool.

This reminded me of a funny story....
So the last game I picked up had the back door lock all chewed to hell from the previous owner(s) jamming a screwdriver in the lock and forcing it to turn. No big deal I say, I've seen it plenty of times before... you do what you've got to do when you don't have the key. But then I open the coin door and look on the inside and what do I see hanging on the hook right where it should be? Yup, the back door key.

I never noticed the hook before so I had to run downstairs and check. Thankfully there was no key hanging there laughing at me.
