It has the shape of Contra on the side but, again, that doesn't explain the older logo.

Edit: There's some very light screen burn that doesn't look like Double Dribble. I can't for the life of me make it out though. That would be too easy, I guess.

Well, it'd help explain what that monitor was used for. It still might've been swapped from another machine. ;)
 
Two speakers below the marquee overhang.

That's a contra cab.

I think the sideart was applied to the cabs for a long list of convert-a-cab Konami games.

I've also seen this same cab used with two running green stripes outlining the perimeter of the side panels. I think the stripes style was the dedicated one used for Super Contra (it then had a sideart decal placed in such a way that the stripes ran under the sideart perfectly).
 
They made this style cab before they ever made Contra. I assume they put them out with the kit games long before Contra, and they just came with generic side art.
