Hey guys, I just finished painting my 720 restore project. I'm very happy with the way it came out. Just need to do the black on the front.

I plan to put the t-molding on tomorrow. For those of you that have replaced the t-molding on the head unit, where does the seam sit? Is it on the bottom of the head unit? Does it meet underneath the boombox panel? It's been so long since I took it off, I don't remember where it was.

Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!!

No one? I'm probably gonna do it in a few hours. If no one weighs in, I'm just gonna do the seam on the bottom of the head unit. Probably easier that way.

Add grip tape to the base to finish off the look.

Thanks guys, I ended up going with it on the back like you guys suggested, looks great!

I seriously considered grip tape for the base, in fact, I still might do it. I fully admit to being a poser back in the day, I think my mom bought me a Nash Redline from Toys "R" Us, complete with all the trick accessories. The only thing I still have today from it are the scars on my legs.

I'll probably do a postmortem rebuild thread once it's done. I do have a lot of people here to thank.

Also, I just discovered (as many of you have as well) that the original Atari silver t-molding on top has a thicker barb than the repros most of us have bought. How did you all deal with it? Fill and recut the slots? Hot glue? Electrical tape?
