First question: Does anyone know where you can purchase a new motor for the rotating CD at the top of the machine?

Second question: I have a decent amount of paint chips off the front of the machine and would possibly like to paint the machine but not sure if this is really plausable. If it is what type of paint should I use? How should I prime the machine? The machine is the Black/Gray/Tan style.

I have included a few pictures for you to see what I am talking about.

Thanks for your time guys.

The motor should be available from any Rowe dealer, something like $30 last time I bought one, but it's been quite a while back. Some Rowe expert on here might know the exact paint formula. If exact color match for the paint is necessary, chip off a bit of each color and any decent paint dealer can make an exact match. Might be costly though, depending on minimum amount they will sell. If you just want to touch up the nicked spots, you might buy very small cans slightly darker than the colors you need and dilute with white to get the desired shades. Do this in small amounts so you don't overly lighten the whole can. Just put the darker shade in something like a plastic spoon and add the white a drop at a time until you get a match. I suppose semi-gloss or flat enamel would be best Otherwise you might try those small nail-polish type touchup tubes at an auto parts store, but they will be glossy.

Any idea what the motor is actually called or better yet a part number?

Rowe's part number for the motor is: 40824302

Expect to pay around $45-ish no matter where you go, I have never seen these sold much cheaper, and I have bought many of them.

If you would rather not buy from Happ, for whatever reason, I would highly suggest Bruce at http://www.abjukebox.com/ Bruce is one of those guys helping to keep all of these old boxes still running and I personally like to support small operations like his. You can purchase right on line via his website.

Rowe distributors sell genuine Rowe "touch up" paint in their parts departments. The manual for your machine gives the paint color names and part numbers.

A cheap alternative is nail polish, get your wife or g/f to match the colors, they got like ten gazillion colors for $1-2 a bottle. More than enough to touch up some chips and it's shiny enamel chip resistant paint.

Hey guys the Juke has been working great up until a couple of days ago. I am pretty sure that the problem lies somewhere on the Central Contol Computer. The model number that is currently in the machine is the 40832220. I have a buddy that has a spare CCC but it is model number 40832201. So my question are these two boards compatable?

Alright He brought over his spare and we threw it into my machine. And there was still a problem with mine but this time it was a different problem. So we grabbed both boards and went to his place to make sure there wasn't something else going on with my machine. Unlikely for me both my board and his spare board did the same things in his machine.

So I took apart the case around the board on mine the 40832220 model and took a look to see if I could visually see any damage done. Resistor 93 looks like it was burned badly but I could not see any other issues that would pop out at me. The problem that I am having with this board is the Rowelink command LED never comes on. As well when you go to select your song the machine acts as though it's going to work but does nothing and removes your credit.

So I guess my main question with the 40832220 board is would the damage done to R93 cause these problems or do I defiantly have some other issues on the board as well.

Thank you guys for all the help.

Hello,

I would have thought that the boards should be compatible, the program version may be different.

The R93 resistor on your board is 100 ohm 1/4 watt.
The fault could be on ic U19 75176 which is a transceiver (RS-485) which connects to R93 and then to the connection P12
Note R92 and R93 are not used on the earlier board.

Amiman,
Alright on the 40832220 CCC I replaced the R93 resistor with a 100ohm ¼ watt resistor. That did not fix my issues; there still is no LED for the Rowelink Command as well as the removing credits from the machine that I explained earlier.

I tried to take a few pictures of the boards to show you what I was working with but my camera on my phone I couldn't get a sharp enough picture for you to actually make anything out. So this is some info that I think you may need to help me out.

On the 40832220 CCC, U15 which seems to be a programming type chip this is what it reads: 70042704 CD100 CCC Rev 3.6. That is a 32 pin chip. On U19 it reads: P56BH DS 75176 BN.

Now after talking to my buddy that I got the spare board he made it sound like it came out of a CD-100a while I have a CD-100e model.

On the 40832201 CCC, U15 reads: 70039902 CD100 CCC V1.3. This is a 28 pin chip. On U19 it reads: 817A or B17A (couldn't tell which) SN 75176 AP. Also there is no spot on this board for R92 or R93.
The problem that I was having with this board in the CD100-e was #9 on the keypad was not working and it would not coin up.

So my question is would the 40832201 not work correctly in the CD100-e even if the board was good? Can I pull the U19 chip from CCC- 01 and replace it with the one of CCC-20? Any other suggestions on what I should do next.

Thank you.

:DWith some help from dbsyrny I was able to get the original CCC working by swapping the IC on U19. Unfortunately I think I might have to send my buddies spare board in but I will keep looking into that one for a little bit. So once again thanks everyone who has helped out.
