I own 5 of these, 3 are Blue and 2 are Gray. And you would think after owning these for so long I would know a bit about them but I dont. So, I figure I would ask a few questions about them and see if someone can answer them for me. How do you get the Qsound to work on these? Is it something that is just hooked up with the Jamma connector or is it something to do with the Red and White audio plugs on the board? I've tried plugging seperate speakers into those and nothing happens. And just what is that white connector between the jamma connector and the red and white plugs? I'm guessing its for adding a 3rd and 4th player, but I'm just guessing. Any thoughts?

Yea, I use that site a lot. But it doesn't explain how the audio outputs work. If you can just directly plug in speakers to them or if something needs to be switched on in the menu screen. I've tried plugging speakers into directly, but nothing happens so I'm at a loss.

You have to use an amp. The plugs go to the amp and then the amp connects to the speakers.

The white connector is for extra buttons. Kick buttons, extra player, etc.

You have to go into the audio settings and play around...

IIRC: There are TWO settings that you have to get right. One to send Stereo to the line outs. Another to route audio to the Line Outs. I don't remember the specifics, just that everything has to be correct.

Also, the sound on the lineouts is VERY VERY LOW. you have to turn it up all the way via PCB. You also have to put the amplifier at a decent level

But basically if you have no amp you will not be able to hear it anyway.

Yeah, the Red and White plugs are line-level (and low at that).

You have to plug them into an amplifier of some sort like a Q sound amp, A pair of PC speakers, An AV receiver, or a TV.

Ugh....Figures its not a simple plug in the speakers and there ya go. Do they make a Q Sound Amp for the CPS-2 boards?

Mike

They did make Q sound amps but they are a little hard to come by now. I still see them on ebay from time to time and on forums like Neo-Geo. If your speakers are good on your cab, Q sound does sound a bit better, but I would not say it is worth buying the amp.

Yeah any stereo amp would work...

I'd recommend a small 35w car amp. You can get em pretty cheap.

That way, you don't have to worry about the 120.
