I was wondering where a good place to buy new EPROMs, used EPROMs at. With the used ones will they already be erased and ready to go or will I have to erase them before I used them.

And as for the eraser. Can I buy a cheap one on ebay or should I get one from a reputable place. I am just learning all this and is new to me. Don't want to spend a lot of money to start out. Then once I get comfortable with doing this stuff I was going to get better equipment, but for now just Want the basics but still be able to do the trick if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance

If you aren't going to be burning tons of EPROMs just have somebody else burn them for you. It will be a waste of money otherwise.

I'm doing this to know more roms, and the process that it involves to burn one. and to make backup roms for the games I have. And I want to tinker in burning roms and whatever this ends up leading me to later down the road is fine with me. Kinda like what Channelmanic says "call me cheap bastard... I learn to fix things to save me money". And that's what I'm trying to do. And why do you think it is a wast of money. This hobby isn't cheap anyway's if I can save money somewhere else to buy something else I need is fine with me. So to me it's really not a waste oaf money.

Seriously, still would like to know where a good place to buy a cheap eraser (link would help to what you think) and a good place to buy new EPROMs, and used EPROMs.

Thanks

Channelmanic is a good source of EPROMs. ;)

Also you can watch for lots on eBay, here, as well as any of the other arcade places. (arcadeshop, Bob Roberts, jameco, mouser, etc...)

Craigslist can also be a source for EPROMs and even an eraser if you live in a metropolitan area with enough tech folks around.

This is the eraser I bought within the past couple years...

The timer doesn't work but if you're only going to use it now and again... it's perfect for the price. :)

I have the same one and it works fine. The timer is funky, but you can figure it out easily. You can always just look at a clock too. Anyway it does the same thing as the $185 one mentioned above at a fraction of the price.

I was to thank everybody for the reply's and help on where to get the stuff I am looking for..I am still open to more suggestions and places to get this stuff at.. Thanks again to everybody..
