question re: 5-pin connector on G07 monitor chassis

I got a G07 chassis in the mail today that I would like to hook up in my Ms. Pac. Prob is, on the original Ms Pac vid setup, there was a 5 pin female connector coming down off of the tube yoke that hooked to the monitor chassis. The new G07 has something on that connector already, which runs to the neckboard.

Am I able to leave the one disconnected that was on the yoke of the original tube? I wanted to ask before I got creative in hooking things up.

Thanks,

VG

This is the connector in question, for more info:

There IS a 5-pin connector from the neckboard to the chassis, but that's not in the picture you posted. That one in your picture is the one from the yoke.

So - what's your question?

Thats the yoke connector and definitly doesnt go to the neckboard. Actually the neckboard doesnt have any connector for its wires, they go on wire wrap posts on the chassis.

He may have been referring to the 5-pin connector on the chassis that some of the neckboard wires go to...

The photo you posted is of the yoke connector, which is right behind the screen/focus control. That's where the yoke plugs in.

The connector you're referencing does connect to the neckboard, and that connector is in the middle-ish.

I trust the chassis made the journey intact?

I went back down in the garcade, looked at the chassis again, and saw where the wires were supposed to go.. DUH!!!! That's what happens when you do a monitor swap once every 2 years!

Yep, Peale it made it safe and she's working great. At least the monitor is.. :( And now off I go to the repair section LOL

*wipes brow* anytime I ship a chassis like that I sweat a bit as you never know what's going to happen in transit. Glad it's working! And again, I'm sorry it took so long to get it back to you.

And on the flip side, there's nothing like waiting for a reconditioned chassis to arrive, and when it comes to your house, the side of the box says "DEAD G07" on it.... Were you just looking to make me have a stroke or... :D

Oh shit! LOL...that was from another that was shipped to me that I'm fixing. I thought it was only written on one side (which if you look closely @ the address label you can see it peeking thru). If I'd seen that I would have scratched it out!

Nothing an EKG won't fix :D
